The cost of fuel to propel a boat through the water(in dollars per hour) is proportional to the cube of the speed. A certain ferryboat uses $100 worth of fuel per hour when cruising at 10 miles per hour. Apart from fuel, the cost of running this ferry is $675 per hour. At what speed should it travel so as to minimize the cost per mile traveled?

A blonde gets on an airplane and sits down in the first class section of the plane. The stewardess rushes over to her and tells her she must move to coach because she doesn't have a first class ticket. The blonde replies, "I'm blonde, I'm smart, I have a good job, and I'm staying in first class until we reach Jamaica."

The disgusted stewardess gets the head stewardess who asks the blonde to leave. The blonde yet again repeats "I'm blonde, I'm smart, I have a good job and I'm staying in first class until we reach Jamaica." The head stewardesses doesn't even know what to do at this point because they still have to get the rest of the passengers seated to take off; the blode is causing a problem with boarding now, so the stewardess gets the copilot.

The copilot goes up to the blonde and whispers in her ear. She immediately gets up and goes to her seat in the coach section. The head stewardess asks the copilot in amazement what he said to get her to move to her correct seat. The copilot replies, "I told her the front half of the airplane wasn't going to Jamaica."

my wife and i have been married for 3 years now. she is disabled and no longer gets her money from the government because of the marriage. this makes it very difficult to pay the bills and put a little away for a rainy day.we have a thirteen year old boy and would like to be able to take him places and do things as a family but the money is too tight to be able to plan anything like this...we're talking about getting a divorce so we can get her money back. what is the best route to go remembering there's not much money to fork over for this situation..........please give input

How? In the Gospel of Luke it says the Christ "...opened their understanding..."
Was he literally enlightening his disciples, or something else? What? Can one individual enlighten another? Many believe one must 'walk the path alone', through meditation, reflection and contemplation, but is there a way for a teacher to induce a direct experience? I'm not talking shortcuts, I'm talking accelerated learning. Is it remotely possible?

a couple of days ago i went outside and found my dog with his foot extremely swollen and his fur was all black as if stained with coal.I gave him a pill to take away the pain and swelling, but it only worked temporarily.I can't take him to the vet because he is very very hiper and rebellious. I was surprised he even let me take him a bath.Anyways, today i came home from school and was looking for my dog.I turned around to this little closet that we have outside and saw big puddles of blood.I was crying and screaming like crazy.he didnt want to come out of that closet, but when he came out, i saw his foot was all covered in blood.The bleeding stopped after a couple a minutes, but he had already lost a lot of blood. He was also vomiting everything i would give him. after about an hour, i gave him dog food and lots of water and he finally kept it in. About 15 mins. ago, i went outside and he got up and started bleeding again. Im desperate!! what should i do?!?! plz help!!!!!!!!!

I just got my transmission flushed and it's somtimes getting stuck in 2nd.When I put it in neutrel or stop and take off slowly it will usually shift right.Should I change the filter? Drain the oil and add transx? Any ideas of what it could be or how to trouble shoot it?

I was shocked to discover when we covered the topic of religious experience in my philosophy class, that there is a lot more evidence supporting the existence of ghosts than goes against it.
I sat there thinking..surely everyone else sees that the idea is ridiculous...but it emerged that most people in the room...even my teacher, believe in ghosts. People started coming out with all these claims; each person truly believed they had seen a ghost.
But how can I question another person's experience? I wasn't there, I didn't see...so how can I judge?

My gut instinct has always been...what a load of rubbish. But now I'm faced with a world that seems to take the concept of ghosts very seriously. I guess I'm scared of the philosophical implications this might have, if it were true.

Please tell me I'm right to be skeptical and explain to be how the existence of ghosts can be disproved.

One day, while a blonde was out driving her car, she ran into a truck.

The truck's driver made her pull over into a parking lot and get out of the car.

He took a piece of chalk and drew a circle on the pavement. He told her to stand in the middle and not leave the circle.

Furious, he went over to her car and slashed the tires.
