If you arent fulfilling your purpose, to serve God, then life WILL seem meaningless.. Thats how it was for me, to. You feel like you're going nowhere.. and whatever you do, it doesnt matter, because you'll be dead soon, anyway. But when i found the Lord, I found I had purpose! I wasn't here, just to live and die. My purpose is to tell others about God, and how He sent His only son, Jesus Christ, to die for me..as well as them, so that we could be forgiven.. and Im not just going to die..and thats it. But Im going to go to Heaven, and spend an everlasting life with my God. I am going to live forever, in Spirit... In Heaven..
And you can to! You have purpose..you just havent found it yet. All you need to do is confess to God that you need Him. That things dont work out, when you're in charge. and ask him to forgive you!

Think you hit the nail on the head. With that kind of an attitude, life will continue to be meaningless. Ever hear of an attitude adjustment? I've had times when I wonder what it's all about and then I look at a picture of one of my children or grandchildren and remember what it's all about. It doesnt have to be incredible, just ordinary things can fill your life with meaning. Maybe you could make one of your goals to find something that really stokes the fire in you. You've made it past those teen years and you are working toward a goal, so you're obviously intelligent. Look for something every day that makes you smile. You may have to look for it, but I assure you-it's there.

The irony about living is that the more you want to find meaning in life, the less happy you are. Contentment is feeling just a state of being, not wanting, not resenting, but just being. Have you wondered why only man is capable of greed ? Animals may be ferocious when hungry or threatened but they consume only what they need to survive. We can learn from animals by not wanting beyond our needs and try to fulfill the whole reason why there must be humanity and human-ness.

The purpose of life is to be that link between all the yesterdays and all the tomorrows. The promise of all the tommorrows as it would be, lies within you. Fail to link the past with tommorrow and the promise passes with you. It is our purpose to experience the sadness that the transition of a life engenders as others are let go and new ones claimed. We must be the one among many that makes the reality that is life among the stars.

You have not yet found what you love. It may be very abstract or difficult to remember, buried under the learned ego's misperceptions.
Your identity is what you are passionate about. Don't give up. Noticing the rut is the first step to an open mind and full aliveness.

Medscape - We all see the world through our own eyes and experience. If life has no pleasure for you, it is because you are not making an effort to see the pleasure in your life.
I have this quote posted on my computer "The most important choice we make is what we choose to make important." Your life is meaningless because you are not making choices about what's important to you.
If you feel no pleasure in life, please read the book, "Attitudes of Gratitude" by M.J. Ryan

May I ask you a question? You are working toward 'a goal'. Whose goal is that? All too often our desires and 'goals' are shaped by others who have their own agenda. Think really carefully if this goal is actually your own or if it is just doing it for somebody else.
Sure life is meaningless but its better to follow your own meaningless path than somebody else's.

Life is definitely meaningless when lived outside of and without Jesus Christ! Surrender your life to Jesus Christ and you will have a fully meaningful life!!! Read St John's Gospel chapter 10vs10 in the Holy Bible for more!

If you go out on the street where people are poor and forgotten or travel to a country where it's poor and corrupted everywhere, you'll feel the need to help and that will make a lot of sense to you... I'm sure...

Drop the need for a meaning and live. The demand that says ' you should be concerned about meaning in life' was put there from something outside of you and is not necessary to live. Kill the demand to be concerned about any of that and you will find life.
