No modern crap bands.

A legion of dumbass followers does not make them important. By that rational the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC would be 2 of the most important bands with New Kids being up there as well.

The Beatles, they're fab! I know how to play almost all of their songs on guitar!!! I'm not sure about Bob Dylan though, because I'm pretty sure that he's the one who got THe Beatles on drugs. But, that's just my opinion. The Stones are pretty good. I like Led Zepplin's "Stairway To Heaven"! Jimi was a graet guitarist. Eric Clapton is a pretty good guitarist too, and I like his song "Layla"! Chuck Berry was a good musician too! The Yardbirds!?! Don't listen to much Pink Floyd, nor do I The Who, or The Doors. The eagles are a great group! Nivana too! I like The Beach Boys, David Bowie, & Queen. Never listened to The Ungraetful Dead, The Clash, and I sometimes listen to Aroesmith. Now John Lennon, he was a rock legend and always will be to me! I like that he always wanted to end wars and make peace. The rest I listen to also. Great going! You have a great taste in music! The only two that I would add in would be Paul McCartney and George Harrison! :-)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that even though those classic rock artists, which is what they are, classic rock, anyway, they may have paved the way, but if you are going for importance, there are many bands that have affected a generation or more in modern rock, such as My Chemical Romance who have an army worth of followers, and I feel bands like that make a statement that is heard around the world, and will be legendary.

So if you are going to compile a list, make sure you are informed about current music that is important as well, not just digging up old ****.

Ike Turner - For writing the 1st "rock" music, "Rocket 88" Elvis- For being the 1st "rock famous guy or woman" Little Richard, overweight Checker and all the different stars of the 50's- For beginning the revolution of a clean break of day Chuck Berry - For writing the 1st easily rock music, "Johnny B Goode" The Beatles - the 1st recognizable band Rolling Stones- the 1st actual rock band i'm sorry, however the Beatles have been a pop band with guitars, no longer rockers. Rolling Stones have been the 1st band to be the "undesirable boys" and define intercourse, drugs and rock and roll. shifting on... Jimi Hendrix - the 1st "shredder" Led Zeppelin - the 1st heavy rock band. They motivated tens of millions. i think that Black Sabbath could be thrown in here besides. The fathers of metallic. Eddie Van Halen - the single-guy revolution. This guy redefined a thank you to play a guitar continuously. the great 4 of metallic- Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax and Megadeath. those adult males took the revolution farther, and presented what a actual shred grew to become into to the international. i will end with Nirvana for commencing the main up-tp-date revolution, the alternative pass. i might call those the great 10 artists that shaped rock and roll.

Probably Jimi Hendrix because he paved the way for a bunch of other artists and I'd have to say that he is shown under influences more than any other name.

The Beatles of course. Their cool, rocking, exellent, fab, and very. I'll say without the Beatles there wouldn't be no Monkees.
