My daughter’s father asked me to marry him this last march. My parents (who are well off but not rich) told us that since we were planning on buying a home this July they would give us a down payment if we got married at the courthouse, instead of paying for a wedding. So my husband and I put aside our “dream wedding” and rushed to the courthouse a month later so we would have money to move. They did give us $500 for our honeymoon and another $500 to live on when we got back. Now that’s it time to move they haven’t said anything about the down payment. I don’t want to be rude and ask because we really don’t need it but the fact that they told us they would give it to us and we didn’t have our wedding. I’m I wrong for feeling upset about this? Cause we really wanted a wedding!!!

This question is an off-shoot of what trouble-maker just asked.

People want us to give them food, medical supplies, finances and other things to take care of their countries yet we have hungry people here, people without health insurance here and other problems we need to deal with.

I am against welfare and the like, but I especially loathe giving money to foreign countries that don't appreciate the aid anyway.

I was wondering if atheists are fearful of literature which will threaten their disbelief in God. Before you throw this back at me, yes, I have read atheistic type literature and I have also visited atheist websites and, guess what, I used to be an atheist. I challenge you to read "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel. He used to be an atheist, too. He began research for his book to DISPROVE Christianity. He learned the truth and is now a Christian. I wonder if you're afraid this might happen to you if you read and learn. I expect to get hate answers from many of you because this has been my experience in the past. You will be very much offended at my "arrogance" and are so blinded by sinful pride, you don't recognize you own arrogance. You will accuse me of intolerance and, again, you don't recognize intolerance in your way of thinking. You will call me ignorant, but I have been willing to learn. It's alright. I used to be the same way. No animosity intended, I'm just being honest.

My spouse has replaced the seats several times, all different kinds. The same thing always happens, pretty quickly too, they turn blue! Everyone thinks it's funny, and my doctor looked at me like I was nuts, but it is happening, and I want to know why. If it's dangerous, I think it is something I shoule know...Even if it isn't, I am still curious why.

Palmolive used to make a lather shaving cream that was terrific, but they are no longer producing it. Do you know of any alternatives that would work? I'm not looking to switch to foams or gels and would favor something requiring a shaving brush. Thanks for your help!

Someone broke into my car and took loose change, a burned CD, and KFC coupon. Yet they left my sunglasses, ipod adapter, jacket, golf clubs, and the radio. And yes I'm sure it was a break-in my car was locked (but a window was 4in open) and when I came back it wasn't.
