lets face it, Americans want politicians with high profile executive jobs, with million dollar retirement packages.

you dont want to vote in a local hero who helps his/her community. works hard to make ends meet and lives a real responsible life.

you want the typical, grew up rich, with a powerful family making decisions over your lives.

This is how it has been in the history of America

The sheriff refused to say what illness she had that made him decide to release her. Considering the fact that she became famous for a sleazy sex video, might she have aids, and the sheriff is afraid he might catch it from her if he kept her in "solitary" ?

Then they leave their wife for another woman and complain about alimony? It is not like she has a 401k she's been contributing to.

Seriously? I have heard too many men say their wife is not going to work, her place is "in the home" and she'd "better" have my meals ready for me when I get home. Then they leave their wife for their secretary, and then complain about alimony and child support.

Makes no sense to me.

okay I had my son circumcised like a week and a half ago (he's two weeks old) and it looks like it's all healed now, but the head of his penis is a purple tint, is that normal? or should I be worried? He doesn't seem like he's in any pain or anything, and it healed up nice, just the color is bothering me and my husband. I already called my doctor and am waiting on her reply, but I figured that I couldn't hurt to see if anyone on here knew the answer. Thanks!

Nobody seems to know. Some people say it's at least 6 gauge some say 14 will do it, and some say that 20 will be just fine. So whatta heck is it??? I don't want to melt it down and start a fire in my house, but don't want to run one that can power up a concert either.

I am a Wiccan, but I believe in all types of theism as symbols for fertility and nature worship- BUT I think there are those of us out there who do really believe in several gods and I am just curious on your take. Do you have the "all gods are one god" philosophy? Do you believe that several gods take an active hand in your daily life? And if you converted from Christianity, Agnosticism, ect did you find it difficult at first to believe?
Just curious, no judgement here. All the pagans I know have some really unique, beautiful takes on spirituality and I would like to know yours. ;)

I recently adopted 2 gold fish. However, one looks more like a koi. Anyway, the Koi must have jumped out of the tank yesterday. He wasn't moving, but after being placed back in the tank, he has started swimming and eating.. his white tail fin is turning brown on the edges and his once silky smooth scales appear to have dried out or become rough. Do you have any advice? He is small, 3" and in a 20 gal tank.. Really worried.

Mine is Jamie Oliver. I love that he keeps everything he makes simple and as fresh as possible. He grows his own produce and is dedicated to teaching others how to cook healthy, tasty and wholesome food. Plus he's just so darn cute!

Old Testament: Women were not even supposed to speak in Temple, nor sit with the men. Priests and Rabbis were exclusively adult males. The average person was illiterate.

New Testament (circa 350AD): No real difference from OT times.

It wasn't until circa 1500 AD that educated men could read a bible in anything but Latin. Considerably longer before literacy rates increased to a point where an average man could read the bible in hi own language, and by then there were several translations which disagreed in substance.

From this came the KJV, to end the controversy and give the Church of England one authoritative book, circa 1650.

Did those who wrote the books in the bible ever conceive of the idea that uneducated laymen and women would read these books and decide for themselves what each passage means?

Or was it always their belief that only educated priests and rabbis would read it and interpret it?

For which audience was the bible written?
