It's sounds like you and your friend are very well "tuned" to each other. I've never experienced it before but you hear about it happening between very close friends and twins, people who have a very strong link with each other. people have said before that they've suddenly had a sweet taste in their mouth only to later find out that the person they have a special bond with was eating ice cream!
I'm not sure if I believe it but it's an established phenomenon. I wouldn't worry about it, it's sounds fascinating!
