Concerning the older players say they want more experienced players to be brought in.. who else can they get that will match up to their playing style and the english game? I can only think of Gerrard and maybe Eto'o but its hard to think of other players that will easily fit in. What do you think?

Newspaper takes on income inequality debate and adds important factors such as education, delayed careers for young people, and taxing the young to feed the old.



Many news reports had been telling us it was dead. But the May 21 USA Today offered some hope – and a brand new spin on the class warfare story the media often repeat.

“I’ve lived the American dream,” said a 55-year-old immigrant from India who now owns a 3,000-square-foot house. The story included several working Americans who were optimistic about their futures. Another was a Hispanic American who expressed confidence in the opportunity for upward mobility.

The USA Today report showed that working toward the future makes sense, because Americans earn more as they age – a common-sense conclusion that could change the “income inequality” debate.

“The growing divide between the rich and the poor in America is more generation gap than class conflict, according to a USA Today analysis of federal government data,” wrote Dennis Cauchon.

As baby boomers reach their peak earning years (Cauchon said the Fed lists 57 as the year of peak income) and head into retirement, the scale is tipping in their favor.

“Inequality within age groups hasn’t changed much,” Cauchon reported. “People in their 30s or 60s have roughly the same wealth distribution among themselves as in 1989. What’s changed is inequality between age groups.”

As Cauchon said, “the implications are far-reaching and can turn conventional wisdom on its head.” That “conventional wisdom” has focused on the top 1 percent of taxpayers, such as high-paid CEOs and hedge fund managers, and has produced countless class-warfare stories of rich vs. poor. But older Americans are the untold story, USA Today reported, partly because IRS data “don’t include information on age, race and education.”

Why the increase? Cauchon’s report gave two main reasons.

“Younger generations now delay the start of wealth accumulation,” he wrote. “They postpone careers to get more education. They marry later (delaying the financial benefit of a shared household), have children later (delaying the arrival of lower-cost, kid-free days) and inherit money later (their parents live longer).”

Meanwhile, their elders aren’t leaving them alone, thanks to the massive tax-funded programs that are taking the younger generations’ money.

“Social Security and Medicare increasingly are functioning as a transfer of money from less affluent young people to much wealthier older people,” Cauchon said, pointing out that the two programs’ shortfalls over the next 75 years amount to $340,000 per household.

4 buildings in the newly remodeled city hall area. they installed sprinkers in every single building. even small 5x5' areas. they are using them , precious water, everyday for 15 minutes. I wont presume to know how much waste their is. How do I proceed, what can I do to get the local city govenment to understand their ignorance to the wasted precious resource. What can i do?

I have a yellow-eared slider, and lately he's been acting strange. He lays out and refuses to eat, swim, or do really anything. When I hold him, his head lolls wheerever I turn him, as if he has no control over it. He sticks his head out and takes deep rasping breaths, and doesn't open his eyes a lot. He's shedding, it seems, as his skin is peeling. I tried to feed him some raw hamburger, and he tries to eat it, but can't manage with his rasping. What is there I can do? Is he dying, and if so, how can I ease his pain?

Last August or September, I made two purchases from a company that does home parties; one I did online, the other from the consultant. They totalled over $150. Both were paid using my debit Mastercard. No money has been withdrawn from my checking account for either transaction. I verified that the correct account number was used in both cases. The company shows that I paid. What are the chances that they will discover the mistake and then take the money out? It's annoying having these things outstanding when balancing my checkbook, but I don't want to put them back in my checkbook and then end up bouncing something when they discover the mistake.

I work at an adventist institution, and have a couple of things I was curious about. i mean this in a respectful manner and do not wish to demean anyone's beliefs. I have noticed that there is a tendency to name buildings after major donours, even if they are still alive. I understood from the bible that you really shouldn't boast or announce your good deeds in this manner.
The other point is that there are junk food machines that have public access, especially to children. It seems disappoiting to think that the institution would choose profit over children's health. Thetr are alternative that are available. I must say again that I respect other beliefs but was simply curious. Thank you
