They get paid according to scale. Which is great when they are filled to the bream, the profits just stream in.

Only when they sing a song about a fishy for their dishy when the boat cooms in, but even then it's usually only a tenor. The freelance fishermen use spears and have haddock enough of the plaice with the hook line and sinkers, so get far batter rates.

Most always the net profits. First mates sometimes recieve a small salary and bonuses.
