I work at an adventist institution, and have a couple of things I was curious about. i mean this in a respectful manner and do not wish to demean anyone's beliefs. I have noticed that there is a tendency to name buildings after major donours, even if they are still alive. I understood from the bible that you really shouldn't boast or announce your good deeds in this manner.
The other point is that there are junk food machines that have public access, especially to children. It seems disappoiting to think that the institution would choose profit over children's health. Thetr are alternative that are available. I must say again that I respect other beliefs but was simply curious. Thank you

I am surprised as well. I was a strict SDA for 4 years, back in 79-84 and I know they were very strict about the foods.

Matter of fact they were just coming out at that time with No Caffeine sodas of their own. Also No Chocolate, we ate carob instead.

Every thing was soy products and fresh vegetables, shoot I lived on Wham, and Bolono for along time cause I needed my sandwiches. About all chips were out, unless they were natural fiber and even then (no added salt).

What I am trying to say is, wow! what kind of junk food are you talking about? Are you sure they are junk and not their own brands of "replacements" (some of the things were getting pretty realistic).

As for the name of the buildings, I really don't know, I do kinda recall they were starting that back when I left.
