we all know that being gay isn't a choice..however, I think your question is poorly worded...I would encourage any gay boy--catholic or not--to come here for support if he needed it. I don't think they should be ridiculed for doing so...but I don't think you meant it to sound like that :)

The Catholic church is NOT accepting of gays. The official position is that you can be gay but you cannot have sex.

Now, does that make sense? Be gay, but you can't have sex even with the person you consider your partner.

Now, with this new Pope, the official line will l be even worse, even if some priests in the US and Canada choose to ignore such antiquated thinking they will be under more and more pressure to adhere to the official line.

Oh and to Makeitreal....girl, the Catholic Church is 2,000 years old. All other christian religions are a spin off of the Catholic church.

BTW, more and more churches are beginning to realize that gays are just as deserving of God's love as straight people, that it is inherent in who they are. So I suggest that you know what your talking about before writing anything and proving to the world that you are ignorant.

What does homosexuality being, or not being, a choice have to do with anything?

I can make the same argument in claiming heterosexuals didn't choose to be heterosexuals. They were born that way to.

Heterosexuals can fornicate as easily, if not easier, than a homosexual can. You see, whether one is heterosexual or homosexual, both are held to the same Christian standards of chastity.

The Truth about how the Catholic Church really truly does regard homosexuality has become so clouded by the pro-gay propagandists, homosexuals who actually do possess understanding of Catholic Doctrine as it pertains to homosexuality are few and far between.

Well, the Catholic religion is more accepting of the gay community.

Most Christian religions won't tolerate it since it is stated in the bible as something disgusting in the sight of God.

But the Catholic religion follows their own beat... Leave it to them!
