Brian Cashman traded Gary Sheffield against his wishes this past off -season. Although Sheffield WAS injured last season he returned 100% healthy and ready to play. Sheffield was the last African-American player on the Yankees roster, the team now has no African-Americans (Jeter considers himself bi-racial). Sheffield along with Bernie Williams are two less right handed batters that helped the heavily left handed Yankee lineup against right handed pitchers. Sheffield's replacement Bobby Abreu will not return after this year, while Sheffield wanted to be a Yankee for the rest of his career. Sheffield is currently hitting .262, with 12 HR's, 29 RBI, 7 stolen bases, 31 walks, .376 obp, and .492 slugging with 0 errors. Abreu is hitting .228, with 2 HR's, 22 RBI, 8 stolen bases, 24 walks, .313 obp, and .289 slugging with 2 errors. Abreu has added yet another left hand bat when right handers are sorely needed.

Ok, I have seen several questions now about marriage having nothing to do with religion. "why can't gays be married, don't mention religion in your answer", "why don't others know about civil marriage, it has nothing to do with church", etc.

MY QUESTIONS:
Does anyone know the origin of marriage?
Without belief in God, why get married? Is it just for tax deduction?
God introduced marriage in the Old Testament, that is the one concept that seems to have made it through all of the other break-offs and distortions into other religions. Every religion has a stance on marriage, so that being said, how does marriage NOT have something to do with religion?

Please clear this up for me.

I live in a country now where dress code is extremely strict for both sexes. I have to admit that not seeing half naked women on the street makes it much more relaxed and stress free to walk on the street. We, men, can't control that impulse that makes us stare at hardly covered boobs or butts and I find it ridiculous that some women dress extremely lewdly and then get annoyed when a man looks at her. If it is so annyoing, why not dress a bit more moderately? Or is the annoyance fake? Any thoughts, folks?

I'm the Vice President of my schools GSA program, and this week I'm in charge of organizing our next discussion topic. We've already done alot of topics like, how Religion affects peoples views on our community, and how the media falsly reflects Gays, how our family and friends react towards us. But I'm looking for something that we can really get into and discuss. Any ideas? I'm looking for something "fresh", that the straight people in our group can also chime in about.

We have a 4 year old male Lab and a 2 year old female, they have had puppies and I want to get them fixed. My husband said he thought it might change our male. I said no it might just calm him down some but he is not a hipper dog and I think my husband is worried he will not want to play and swim any more. I really want the dogs fixed but I also don't want them to change.

A woman was near death from a special kind of cancer. There was one drug that the doctors thought might save her. It was a form of radium that a druggist in the same town had recently discovered. The drug was expensive to make, but the druggist was charging ten times what the drug cost him to produce. He paid $200 for the radium and charged $2,000 for a small dose of the drug. The sick woman's husband, Heinz, went to everyone he knew to borrow the money, but he could only get together about $ 1,000, which is half of what it cost. He told the druggist that his wife was dying and asked him to sell it cheaper or let him pay later. But the druggist said, "No, I discovered the drug and I'm going to make money from it." So Heinz got desperate and broke into the man's store to steal the drug for his wife.

Should Heinz have broken into the laboratory to steal the drug for his wife? Why or why not?

I'm keen on hearin' what it was like for you in the army. I'm a medic in the army.

I also have a question: Should I sleep with my chain in command (he's married!)? Honestly, he keeps on pressuring me to. I said no for quite a while, and I have not been promoted at ALL, and have been kinda ostracized.

And please don't say "Yeah, if he's good looking" or other answers like that.

Has anyone ever had experienced this? It's really annoying!
