What can, if anything, the United Nations do to prevent international politcal and business corruption? It's this obession with power and greed that negates all the outstanding efforts of such organizations as ONE. The result is that our bandaids of relief become temporary and in the end, people continue to suffer and die.

I have a friend who doesn't eat much. Or so it seems to me. For breakfast she hardly eats one fourth of a bagel, for lunch she eats a small power bar and SOMETIMES an mini apple sauce cup.
And for dinner she barely eats a taco. She sticks to a really small eating portions like that. She is trying to lose weight.
But is this going too far, or am I being paranoid?

I have a friend who works at CVS. They always give him a hard time when he asks for earlier hours or less hours because they do not want to give them to anyone else. Needless to say, the rest of the workers he works with are crap.This week is our college finals, and they expect him to work until 10 when he told them at the beginning of last week that he need to be out early to study.The manager who made the schedule gave him b/s, saying he cannot grant everyone's requests of early days or no work days. I think it's a crock of bull. They always make him do things they don't want to do like he's their slave or something. He was planning on taking summer classes, but is afraid that since they did this to him this semester, they will do it again next semester, when all the little highschool kids "can't work". Is there any action he can take for this situation, and how would he write his 2 week notice without making it sound bad or rude? Thank you so much in advanced!!

The vet once said it was an allergy to beef that caused it..then, another time, said it was a yeast infection..we are confused! We try all kinds of ways to help her..she will dig her ears raw if we don't put something in there to help, and her ears have a foul odor. The crud in her ears look a nasty brown color. She also has a "foot fetish"..licks and licks her feet..not a normal grooming lick, but keeps at it for a long time! Will even chew on her toenails! She does it so long that if she is laying on the carpet, she gets it soaked where she is licking! Anyone out there familiar with these problems and have a suggestion or a solution?

If a person goes out all the time and leaves their significant other at home with the kids....should they charge to babysit?? I know the kids are the responsibility of both parties, but he/she would have to pay someone to do it if they weren't there, so why shouldn't the one at home be compensated somehow?

I just returned from the gyno, and was told to monitor my blood pressure -- when he took it, it was 140/100. Normally, my blood pressure is perfect! I was VERY nervous - this was a new doctor for me, and he took my blood pressure before right the exam. I even told him i was nervous. WHen I came home and took it, and it was 1203/83.
This happen to anyone else???

I have problems with a Tahoe I just bought a month ago. (Texas) When I first took it b/c it would not start right away and they ended up doing something else. They wanted me to pay for the parts. So i told them I would not pay and they did not fix the problem. So I'm gonna go today b/c it's not working right. Could I just get another car? And will I end up paying for the repairs??
