Years ago I got engaged and was far along in the wedding planning, including purchase of a beautiful dress, when the prospective groom and I broke up. The dress languished in a closet for years, until I passed it down to my niece for whenever her wedding day should arrive. I recently became engaged to a wonderful guy, and purchased another, equally beautiful but less formal, dress for our wedding. However, I was talked by the niece into "just trying on" the old dress... and it looks better now than it ever did! Now I'm torn. The old dress is gorgeous but I'm afraid it's too "young" for me (I'll be 36 on my wedding day), and possibly too formal for a lakeside garden wedding (it has a cathedral train). The new dress is much simpler with no train, just as lovely, and probably better suited for dancing at the reception (the train on the old dress doesn't bustle well). Would it be suitable to wear one for the ceremony & the other for the reception, or should I just pick one?

The parabola y = x² is rolled on the x-axis, so that the curve tilts as it rolls. After some rolling, there will be a gap between the vertical line x = 0 and the parabola, because the vertical line x = 0 no longer intersects the parabola. How large can this gap get?

Simpler problem: Prove that this gap will appear.

I'll ask the question in 2 parts,1 now, 1 later. 1st part- What do you need? Not want or would like to have, but truly need.

I respect atheists and Clearly understand their arguments(seeing as I was one) but some of them I found annoying and just plain insulting.

Example: Im talking with my friends about religion and they just enter the conversation just to say: "God is not real for ______" WTF do I care? So you dont believe in God fine, I do.

*Atheists answering here better be funny and make me laugh

I have attended many different services in my life time, and many different religions, but I ask a question about 2 different religions, and I am being told that I am rude, that I hate Catholics, and that I am bashing religion-why is everyone getting so huffy? It was an honest question-I have others about other religions,,,but if it gonna be this big of a deal and everyone is gonna get mad-I guess I won't do the American thing and exercise my freedom of expression or speech,,,,,dang
