SANDALS ARE NOT FOR EVERYONE!!! If you have ugly feet you probably know it, and if that is the case keep them covered. Why do you want to show them off?

My husband and I received a wedding invite. His cousin is getting married. We have been invited to the rehearsal dinner. This includes a message asking us to prepare to present a scripture, poem/writing, or tried-and-true advice on marriage. These will be read at the rehearsal.

Now--I understand this is their wedding and they can be as religious as they want. But as most of you know, I am atheist and really cannot stand public speaking. I have no desire to be called on to present, nor do I really care to sit and listen to a bible study. I want to celebrate this couples wedding and wish them happiness in their life together. But IMO, this is not an appropriate time for a sermon.

They are also having a full pledge of faith and congregation communion at the wedding--which always makes us feel awkward to remain sitting.

I'm wondering if we should change our minds about going. Would you go and not participate? Or go and slip out during the bible study part? What would you do?

I Just need some advice on things I can do to help him. Please only answer this if you intend to be helpful. If I get any crude comments or stupid answers I will flag your answer. Why is that - are they just biased, or what?

I mean, if Reagan was such an evil guy (and, believe me, if you weren't around or paying attention when he was in office, the left-wingers were screaming and shouting just as loud then as they are now about Bush) and it was going to take decades to undo the "damage" he'd done, how come Clinton's tenure was marked by the lefties telling us non-stop how wonderful everything was? Heck, they're STILL telling us about the halcyon days of the Roaring '90s.

Do you suppose that if the next president is from the Democrat Party that the lefties, after a period of adjustment during which they'll still be foaming at the mouth about Bush (even though he'll be history at that point), will go back to telling us what a wonderful world we once again live in?

Are they really that predictable? I think they are.

Has anyone used Shepards Cream Lotion? I just went to the dermatologist for the first time at 26. He suggested this brand for combination skin. Does it work well? Previously I was using Mary Kay with SPF. He told me that many women in their mid 20's start to have acne problems even if they did not as a teen?!!! Has anyone experience this and if so, what did you do to help the acne? I currently have 3 zits; on forhead and chin, places I have never had a zit before!

I knew a philosophy professor who explained atheism this way,
he said the trouble with atheists is that they believe they have proof for something that cannot be proven, while Christians admit that faith governs their belief. If an atheist did say it was faith, he would instantly become an agnostic (as he would be admitting that he doesn’t know for sure). Therefore, logically, it seems atheism can’t really exist?

I'd say this is a fair question , seeing as how we see Liberals ask what the next president will have inherited from President Bush .

So, how was National Security ?
The CIA ? and all Intelligence services ?
The Military ? . . . hoo-hooo can't wait to see the answers on that one .

My toddler son (16 months old) gets into everything and I'm trying to teach him to mind. My mom and mother in law think I'm a wimp because I don't spank him. Redirection, giving him toys or other distractions, do not work at all. If he wants to do something, nothing will stop him. I can't get him to sit still for a time out. He also doesn't understand any language yet. I can't keep him in a cage, and I'm running out of ways to babyproof. Oh yeah, he also wants to climb all the time. What do I do? Are my mom and mother-in-law right? Will I raise a terror if I don't spank?

I want to learn more about economics, but I'm a) 15 and b) low on free time.

What's a good book that can explain economics, but theoretically rather than with numbers? My boyfriend reads a lot of Mises and has told me a lot about economics, but I don't know where to start.
