Consider a mixture of air and gasoline vapor in a cylinder with a piston. The original volume is 70. cm3. If the combustion of this mixture releases 860. J of energy, to what volume will the gases expand against a constant pressure of 655 torr if all the energy of combustion is converted into work to push back the piston?

Things that are scientifically proven, such as mathematical facts, may not be understood fully by individuals, or even ridiculed for years or even a lifetime.

But take something that has NEVER been proven, like people going to hell when they die..., something that has been repeated, beat into people's minds, but never proven...

And it is accepted as the gospel unfailable truth.

Yes, there is a heaven, yes there is a hell, & the reason I want to go to heaven is so I don't have to burn in hell (Fear).

Well, I don't really believe all this, as it seems that the majority of people only want to go to heaven to avoid burning in hell, & I have never seen anyone die & come back to tell us we are going there.

I have never seen God, & I don't believe that God is our conscience talking to us, or explain how people who believe in cannibalism got their beliefs?

What gives, how can so many people believe something with so little proof?

Are we all THAT afraid of..., IT?

I spent the day relaxing, my kids are with their dad this weekend. I got dressed up to go shopping, have a few drinks, and a movie, alone. I look hot tonight! Well I did some shopping and then I checked my bank balance, I didn't have as much as I thought. I could either go out and spend it, or save it for during the week when the kids are home. I chose to save it for when the kids are home. Now I am dressed up with no where to go. What a waste of a great outfit. Do you think I did the right thing? Home alone again, at this rate I will never meet anyone!

In light of the recent events at Virginia Tech, should there be a psychological equivalent of Megan's law at places such as universities, government agencies, etc. or would that cause a "witch hunt" effect?

Or is there already a form of this that exists, where a parent who is concerned of their child's safety, can ask the head of the school, to disclose this information?

The hell with hindsight...If I were a parent, I wouldn't care if it violated someone elses rights of privacy. I would think of it as an ultimate preventative measure or form of self defense.

I participate in auditions for some of the well-known musical theater programs in my home, the state of kansas. I have just recently made my schools honor choir for the incoming 8th grade class. This is a much larger aceivement than it seems because There are many people that are in my grade that would probably make it on broadway if they wanted to.I have no doubt that if I put this on my resume it wouldnt make that much of a difference to someone who has given roles to people that are some of the most talented people in the entire state. If I added this to my resume, will it help?

Early last week I posted a question re: restoring my computer to it's original state. I realize I did not provide adequate information, I apologize!!
I have a Dell Inspirion Laptop, operating system, Windows XP Home. I am needing to do a original state restoration(NOT A SYSTEM RESTORE) My kids have lost my original XP cd!!! I really need the help of those of you who are very knowledgable in this area!!! I am in a state of panic!!!!
Some of the issues I'm having are, (to name only a few!!!) there are things(files) under administrator, that I can't access, this I do not understand, because I am the only user, also an administrator, of this computer, tons of my files are duplicated ie; music, pictures on this computer, taking up valuable space, I currently have only 12% available!!!
PLEASE I BEG OF YOU WHO KNOW SOOOO MUCH MORE THAN I DO!!!!!!! I need step by step instructions on what to do........IF, IN FACT, THERE IS ANYTHING,........... I CAN DO!!!! DESPERATELY,KAREN
