I spent the day relaxing, my kids are with their dad this weekend. I got dressed up to go shopping, have a few drinks, and a movie, alone. I look hot tonight! Well I did some shopping and then I checked my bank balance, I didn't have as much as I thought. I could either go out and spend it, or save it for during the week when the kids are home. I chose to save it for when the kids are home. Now I am dressed up with no where to go. What a waste of a great outfit. Do you think I did the right thing? Home alone again, at this rate I will never meet anyone!

U totally did the right thing...now mind u the right thing is not always the fun thing...it hardly ever is but it does show that u have ur priorities straight. Its not the biggest deal that ur all dressed with no place to go...yeah its a saturday night and so its just about "unamerican" to be sitting home alone but later in the week when u can provide for ur kids...ull be glad u did.

Yes, you did the right thing. You did the responsible thing. Save the outfit and go out on a weekend when you have a little extra cash tucked away so you won't feel guilty. You definitely should go out and enjoy yourself, but don't do it when you know you'll feel guilty the next day. Great choice! :-)

Saving up money for quality time with your kids is never a bad thing, in my opinion. You can always go out after your next paycheck comes around. Your nice dress won't go anywhere.

Kids always first, I remember this lady in my block who would always go out and leave the kids home alone and wonder why they were always sick and brought home strange men.

Besides if the kids hand money wouldnt they want to spend it on you because they miss you?

Teslajul: Maybe you won't meet anyone - but at least if an emergency comes up this week you will be able to take care of the kids. grow up -- it is no longer about you - its about the kids.

Actually i think you should spoil yourself and go out tonight. I'm sure you can try to stay within budget and if not, well its not like you do it all the time. You might be wasting a good oppurtunity.

That really bites. Invite someone over for some movies and just hang out. That can be lots of fun, depending what you make of it. And yes, you did the responsible thing... That was the right thing.

That's sad but if you did it for your kids then it's worth it. I think. I don't have kids. Still you look great and even better because your heart is with your kids.
