I hear a lot of people saying how liberal and left-wing Colorado is. My guess is that is a BIG misconception. The state is reliably Republican in presidential races, has Senator Wayne Allard who was ranked the most conservative senator in DC, has Focus on the Family as well as other major evangelical organizations, is one of the most pro-life states around, has been called 'the hate state' for its fervent opposition to gay rights, and has always seemed conservative to me when I've visited.
I know there's Boulder and Aspen that are really liberal--but they are hardly representative of the entire state. If you go to the suburbs or any other city in Colorado I think you'll find a pretty family-values oriented culture.
But let me get your opinion--is Colorado really all that left-wing? And why?
