Parents and teachers do have this power. What kinds of failings do you mean? I believe that it is human to fail and I also believe that one should recognise these failings and be sorry for them and to try not to fail in the same way again, especially if the failings have done harm to others.

Well if they are a world leader than damn right they should apologise. Their failings have consequences. But if it is some bloke on his own then just leave the poor man be.

Apologies is only a small part which doesn't really help change anything except to make you feel better. If you have the power, why not make their failings into positive results / achievements.

If I thought that there was a chance that they may learn from their mistake, then absolutely. Sometimes, it will be the next person they cross that they learn the lesson from. If I am never going to deal with someone again, then I wouldn't cos it would be a waste of time and energy.

No, apologising is too sad. Especially when you have to stand there and listen to it.

I would bring back the STOCKS for these little numb nuts that make this country so difficult and ugly to live in, alongside with their parents, who obviously have not even attempted to bring them up properly with civilised values.
Well you did ask!

No because we learn from our mistakes so therefore our failings have a positive influence on our lives.

No, an apology can not come from the heart, an apology can never be true. You can't truly be sorry for something you've done purposely.
