My wife works for a company that has a contract with one of the UK supermarket companies, which requires her to work in one of the supermarket's stores. She is employed solely by the contractor, not the supermarket. One of the supermarket employees, who has no direct supervision or any other working relationship with her, has put in a number of unfounded complaints about my wife's work to the store's management and

The contractors have no problem with my wife's work, she is regularly praised and they have told her that they do not want to lose her.

Unfortunately, things have got so bad that my wife had to walk out of her job yesterday. We have discussed filing a constructive dismissal claim against the supermarket but as she is not employed by them we don't think that they would do anything. My wife has escalated this to the contractor's owners and is awaiting a reply.

My question is - is there any clause in UK law that protects the right of contractors in this case?

Yesterday I read ANOTHER newspaper article about a crash in th UK, two motorcyclists dead, 25 yr old car driver arrested for dangerous driving..etc etc...
I really want to start biking, it's not something on a 'whim' I've wanted a bike since I was 15, (35 now)..
What scares me is the accidents I hear about CONSTANTLY, I have a young family, would I be being , I dunno, 'reckless' by following my dream of biking?
I don''t want anyone having a go because I would be a 'beginner', I just want some thoughts from experienced bikers.
Would YOU do it all again, given the chance?

On here everyone gives it all their mouth (nothing wrong with that) - don't ya think it would be good if there was a website where you could challenge people with your own money?

i.e Liveprool v Arsenal on Saturday. On Friday at the pub I'll be having bets with Arsenal fans that Liverpool will win. Imagine if ya could do that on here with the people who are saying their team will beat your team.

It could easily be done if everyone had a paypal account and yes I am very bored at work.

My dentist wants me to book an appointment with a hygienist but all they so is a scale and polish, I don't think it's worth £40. Does it have actual medical benefits or is it just a fancy tooth clean?

I recently had knee surgery and the arm where my IV was is kinda tender and you can see my vein, near the top of my arm the vein is kinda bulging. Should I be concerned? It's been almost 4weeks since I had the IV.

Because I think my boyfriend is lying. Not cheating thankfully, but behaving in a way that contradicts what he says. I can't really give you specifics because should he ever land on this question and recognise my username he'd go nuts.
He doesn't want to share any of his life with me (like letting me meet his family!), and seems to make up quite drastic stories as to why. Is it really worth it?
We've been together over a year and he is in his late twenties.

I was wondering is it necessary for kids to wear those hard botttom shoes until they're 5 or older. My son is 3 and he wore them during the time he started to walk and for a while after that. Probably until he was about 2(maybe a little longer). Lately I buy him different shoes (sneakers, boots, sandals, etc). My mom seems to think he should wear them until he is 6 or 7 (something to do with his arch and balance or something). I've discussed this with other moms around my age (30) who have more than one child, and they say they don't have problems with their kids that wear sneakers and some never wore the hard bottoms. Of course, my mom goes on about the younger
generation doing things so different and us not knowing anything and so on. Does anyone know exactly how long kids should wear these shoes and if him wearing other shoes will hurt him later.

Was dating a gemini guy a while ago. We gelled right from the start, said that he liked me alot but wasn't in the frame of mind for any commitments then, typical commitment phobic and a person who loves his freedom. so I give him an ultimatum and let him know that there is no going back after this decision, and he still said look I like you but I can't offer any girl any commitments right now, but if I were looking for someone you would be the one you are every thing I look for in a woman you have intellect, a great sense of humour & ambition if it was 2 years from now when I am ready 2 settle you would be the one. So it ended he still called me wanting to be friends but I ended all contact. Anyway we had got back into contact time has gone pass,I have even brought a house & he likes me all over again and is saying that he wants to start something serious, but I am not as into him as I was b4. Should I give him a chance even though this GEMINI was unable 2 commit b4, he is 31, I am 26?

There are so many, but Mark Wahlberg irritates me the most. How the hell does he keep getting film roles? He plays some bonehead tough guy in every film he's in (no range). He's living proof that chicks aren't the only ones who can get roles because of their looks.
