Lol... so you want to train your wife, huh? Well seeing that this question is post in the hunting section I assume you mean training her to better understand your passion for the hunt. Have you taken her hunting? If no then you should, but remember the true rush comes from seeing your target and Killing it. So let her feel that rush, give her the chance to be the hunter and not the spectator. If for some reason this doesn't seem to change her out look on hunting then help her find a hobby that she is very passionate about.

Why would you want to? They don't stay, they never walk to heel, they don't like going in the crate in the truck bed, they don't swim all that good, especially with a pheasant in the mouth.

Leave the wife alone and get a labrador instead. Wives are much more fun untrained.

Have some respect.

(what are you talking about anyway?)

You want to teach her to shoot? Handgun, rifle or shotgun? Either of the first can start with a Ruger 22 and then she can work up to something bigger if she enjoys it. My mother graduated from a 22 to a 9mm in one hour at the age of 70 having never touched a gun before. I'm not much of a shotgun man, so that would have to be answered by someone else.

Be careful what you wish for lol . I teach both firearms and hunter safety. And had a guy enroll his wife in both courses. She passed with ease and became a fine shot. Anyway in BC we have limited entry hunting in some areas. Well Mr. I want her to hunt applied to get a moose tag and used her hunters number. And he got a group hunt for a moose when she asked when they were leaving. He told her he didn't really expect or want her to go. He only got her trained so he could use her number and get better odds. I won't bore you with the rest of the story except to report she got the moose within two days of hunting. She took it alone with no help from her hubby or his buddies. And she was welcomed back to hunt with them all but her hubby. So becarefull what you wish for you may find your wife will out shoot and hunt you with ease.

speaking that this is in the hunting section I'm assuming that you want to either train your wife to hunt with you or to let you go more often. Well if she don't like hunting it'll be hard to get her to let you go unless you somehow get her to believe that its your hobby and you probably will have to cut it down to a once a week thing and only in the first half of the day. but if you want to teach her how to hunt the only way is to first show her how to use a gun then take her out with you one day and she'll eventually learn by watching you. cooking is something you need to show too, you just didn't post enuf info for us.

pretty much you just have to reason with her and meet her half way.

I tried training wives. That's why I am on #3. I've decided to let #3 remain untrained.

Ring a little bell, and every time you do it give her a little treat. Then when she's yelling at you ring the bell and she'll shut up sit down and look at you expectantly. Just don't do it in Tesco.
