I recently had knee surgery and the arm where my IV was is kinda tender and you can see my vein, near the top of my arm the vein is kinda bulging. Should I be concerned? It's been almost 4weeks since I had the IV.

I had surgery and the same thing happened. I can't remember the name for it, but it had something to do with the vein being damaged when they either put the IV in or took it out. It was really sore for a few weeks, and there was a lump in my arm, and then it slowly healed.
However, if you are concerned, I would go have it looked at by a doctor.

Hi there ,
Ive had clots in my arm and what your describing sounds like it maybe a clot. You say its been nearly 4 weeks since the iv , so i think that the vein should of recovered by now from having the iv in! usually its normal too get a small bruise or for the area too be sore after its taken out but that should go down in a few days! Is it warm too touch? , i think that its best that you get it checked out by a doctor or mention it when you go for your surgery followup.. Its not unusual for clots too form after having an IV and as you probably know they can be life threatening. Better too be safe than sorry as they say. Take care and get weell soon.

That happened to me one time, on my hand. I was told not to worry about it and it eventually went back to normal. Having said that, I would still be careful and watch it. You might want to call your physician just to be sure. Good luck.
