Seriously, I moved in to a town home 6 months ago and almost every night the guy next door either plays his stereo or Xbox loud enough that I hear it over my TV and it vibrates the pictures on my wall. I don't want to come across as a nasty new neighbor, but I just want them to turn it down a couple notches. Any suggestions?

This is completely shallow, I realize. I am originally from NY. I recently relocated to Tennessee and tomorrow I have a job interview at an old Southern Plantation that is a historical site and does tours/class trips/weddings etc. I am really nervous because I feel like being from the north is really going to work against me here (a northern "accent", I don't say y'all, I certainly don't present myself as a "southern belle"). I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how I could dress a certain way or act a certain way that would lend me some southern credibility (short of faking a drawl).


[note: I know most people would say something along the lines of... why would you change for a job?... If you can't get a job based on qualifications rather than appearance, that's your fault... etc. Just humor me, I am kind of desperate at this point for employment.]

My husband got a virus on our computer and he went to Wal Mart and bought the Defender Pro anti spam CD and went home and tried to install it w/out reading the instructions (MEN!) well, it says you are supposed to uninstall any other anti spam software you may have on your PC first, which he did NOT do. Now the computer is running really slow and I am trying to get to the part where I can uninstall all anti spam software and start over with the new one, but it won't get there before completly shutting down. Is it ruined or is there something else I can try?

i walk everyday for 30 odd minutes everyday and not exactly
well brisk.... i am not able to control my food portions and my work schedule does not allow me to do so so i binge on during my lunch ........i have a light breakfast and generally do not go for dinner ...........or i maybe just eat an orange .................rest there is no particular exercise during the day ........and i m kinda losing weight too but just wanted to ask do uor think there is anything wrong i mean medically or other wise and how can i improvise on it

A lot of us subscribe to magazines. I've been getting grief from my wife about what she thinks is a bad habit of mine. I sometimes don't get around to reading a magazine that I subscribe to for a couple of weeks.

What I want to know from all of you is how long after you get your magazine in the mail or post do you open it and start to read? Right away? Not until the weekend? Or like me, sometimes weeks later when you finally get around to it?

I have had anxiety for about 3 months, started with a panic attack and from there I developed the fear of having another where you feel any slight bodily change is the onset of something nasty.

Luckily through a course of medication (Fluoxetine), CBT and self help i'm getting to grips with it but I still have my moments of anxiety where I feel like i'm not with it, that I'm tired when I'm most likely not. I can still drive and work fine but its always on my mind.

To start with I thought it was the medication giving me side effects, I dont think I'm sleeping well either. Have no trouble geting to sleep but if I wake up early as I often do I find it hard to sleep again. I'm going to see the doctor next week to discuss my meds as these were just a trial but I' wondering if anyone else has felt like this and how they dealt with it.

I met a 25 yo girl at church last month. she seems confident enough, as I noticed she keeps wanting to start a conversations with me.

She asked for my email and phone number one night which I politely gave her so she can send me additional info on the group which she did. why did she need my phone number?

Last week when she was leaving church with her friends she told me we can have coffee to discuss anything. I took no notice at the time.

Last night I saw her at church gathering. We made about 5 silent eye contacts in which she keeps looking away. She started small talk with me again. During the night I notice we kept making silent eye contacts. She would look away quickly. but when she was leaving she hardly gave me a nice goodbye like she did with everyone else.

This girls actions are confusing... .... plz give me your view on situation.

I want to voice my displeasure of seeing the horrible abuse of the dog in this episode & the fact that there was no concern shown for his rehabilitation.
In my opinion the network and writers exhibited extremely poor taste to show this abomination and not show any concern at all for the animal. SO...who can I contact that I can tell of my thoughts ?
