I'm a Christian and this has been a subject that has always bothered me with great deal and caused me to doubt many things, so I want serious and thought-out answers.

My question is, why is it such a big deal that Jesus died for our sins?

He knew he was going to die, he knew he was the son of God, he knew that he would save the world, he knew that he would spend eternity in heaven and paradise. Now, who WOULDN'T do that? If you could supposedly save the world by dying, but all the while KNOWING that you would be in heaven eternally at the right hand of God your Father, why wouldn't you do that?

We are both single, and I have dinner with this guy on average 3-4 times a week. We email a lot, usually about work, but also about silly stuff. We hang out together, doing different things such as going to games and bars. If he didn't have so many other friends, I would have thought that he was into me. Also, I just came out of a long relationship, and is wondering if that's his way of showing support. So, would a guy hang out with a girl a lot (and please define a lot) if he wasn't into her? Thanks for your help!

A friend of mine has an 18 month year old. She is a teacher at the preschool I work at. My friend has looked at several preschools - she doesn't want her daughter to come to our preschool - but has found that our preschool offers the best education and she will pay less as she is an employee.

What are the pros and cons of having your daughter at your school with you? Her daughter and her will have much contact during the school day.

The house was built in 1965 and I had it inspected and the structure was fine. What could be the problem? I did find bricks in the toilet bowl. I asked of the longstanding neighbor about this and she said the brick was to conserve water by the first owners
(I'm the fourth) but the toilet water ran slowly and now water is coming up from both bathroom tubs and laundry drainers. In essense I have two problems. I read answers on ASK about stubborn toilet clogs and learned about using a toilet auger. I am waitng for home depot or menard to open up to purchace one. Please help me, this is my first investment and I don't have alot of money. Am I on the right track about the clog drainers ? And I thinking it is the pipes knocking what can be done or do I go without eating for a month and call someone in? Thanks in advance.

Please be as honest as possible. When I say "quietly" I mean that you wouldn't be martyred or given any credit at all for this; i.e., no paradise, no posthumous medals of honor. Also, would you give your life today if it could somehow save the approximately 18,000 children that will die today due to hunger? If you wouldn't mind specifying your political/possible religious persuasion I would appreciate it. Again please be honest and respectful of the seriousness of this question. There are no bad answers that are answered sincerely. Thanks so much.

My child is in a speech class because some letters he does not pronounce correctly. Well yesterday he brought home a paper from his (speech) teacher letting me know that she wants my child to circle a happy face if he thinks he used good sounds and a sad face if he knows he didn't. She also wants his teacher to do the same thing. I really don't see how this will help his speech and also feel it may make him sad and lower his self esteem. Any ideas or advice? I am planning on talking to the teacher today about this but my husband and I don't feel that the happy or sad face paper is needed. My son's teachers say he always tries so hard and does his best. Isn't him trying his best enough or am I looking at this wrong?
