I am aware that an argument from ignorance is inherently fallacious. Even so, I must comment on my observation that black women in America tend to be one extreme or another.

But all the ones I've ever met are either really standoffish, bitchy and unfriendly, or EXTREMELY sweet, kind, tolerant, open-minded, joyful and smiley. I've never met a black woman who is just "meh".

I wonder if it's just a coincidence that I see this, if it has something to do with black history in the U.S. or if it has something to do with the way certain black women treat ME because *I* am white.

I know there are a few posts about this but...
I've never been able to stay on a skateboard, never been surfing and generally am not so good with one board and two legs.
I was a competitive figure skater for 10 years, so I'm thinking that skiing would be a better choice for me.
I'd really appreciate some recommendations. Snowboarding sounds like tons of fun, but I am curious if I'm going to be frustrated because it will be too hard.

Yesterday, I had to leave work early due to a scheduled dentist appointment. I was informed to make up an excuse for our boss, not tell him what I actually was doing because something about teeth or mentioning them or whatever is bad luck according to the Egyptian culture. Can anyone expand on that or at least shed a little light on the subject? This is the second Egyptian boss I've had and the first I've heard this mentioned.

My boyfriend is in the process of a divorce. He was married 6 years and has 2 kids with her. She had an affair and admitted to it. Right now they have shared custody of the kids with him having primary care. She signed the seperation papers stating he would have primary care but now has changed her mind and won't sign the divorce papers because of that. He wanted try to settle out of court but she refused to meet with him and discuss it. How likely is it they will rule that they have shared custody rather then my bf having primary if she already signed the seperation papers?

I am 10 weeks pregnant and my boyfriend of 4 1/2 years has kicked me out and changed his locks as I have been crying too much and he says he cant get to work. This was due to him being quite nasty to me and telling me to abort our child even though we've always talked about having kids and he has a child from a previous relationship
I have been living wih him for the past 2 years and I am from the caribbean. I have been a student here in london since then and I have just enrolled on a postgraduate course. The arrangement was that he would get a loan for me for the tuition and I would of course repay it monthly through working part time. He has refused to do that since he says I'll be pregnant and wont be able to work...ok.
Anyway it got to the point where he has kicked me out and I am crashing with a friend but I cant stay here forever. I cant afford rent right now due to the arrangement with uni I have to pay £1350 every month for 7 months to study. what can I do? any advice?

My friend's daughter is 14 and a really good kid. She babysits for me sometimes, and for a few other people I know. Anyways she has been saving up for a really expensive pair of shoes. She has finally reached her goal, but my friend won't allow her to get them because she thinks they are a waste of money. I admit they are a little bit pricy, but she was responsible enough to earn and save her own money. I figure she should be allowed to buy them. Right? Anyways she is very upset about it, becuase she really wants the shoes. She asked me to talk to her mom, but what am I supposed to say? Personally, I think her mother is being foolish. It's not like her daughter doesn't know the value of a dollar. Normally she is really good with money. Just this one time she wants these shoes!
