I think that your wedding dress is so important it would really be something you would want to try on - and many of them. If you find something you cannot live without go for it. You just have to keep in mind you wont' be able to see yourself in it, or see the up close quality of the gown.

If you don't mind the hassle of packing up and returning the dresses you don't like (if that's even allowed), then you'd get a better price. Otherwise, I think you'd find a great deal on a consignment shop that sells used dresses - that way you can try them on before you buy. I did that, and even sold my dress back - only cost me a total of $100 for dress, shoes and veil. I really don't get the concept of preserving a wedding dress in a box under your bed "just in case" your future daughter might want to wear it. It's just a dress - don't waste so much money that could be better spent on a party!

No because your regular dress size is different then your wedding dress size..and one makers dress may fit differently then another. Or it could look good on the internet and then when you wear it look bad. I bought mine at Davids Bridal and it was inexpensive and a great experience. Plus if you buy bridesmaid or flower girl dresses there as well you get a discount

Making sure you know what the return policy is first. A lot of places wont allow you to return the dress. Make sure you allow yourself plenty of time to be able to return the dress if your not happy with it. And remember what looks good in the pictures not always looks good in person. But if you allow yourself plenty of time to get the dress and decide if you like it or not, than go for it, it might be your dream dress you will only find on the interent and not in any stores.

I would at least find the dress in a store and try it on, so you have an idea at your size. But ordering it off the internet isn't such a bad idea. I paid $1100 for my dress, then found the exact same dress- same size and everything on ebay for $600! It had been used though.

I wouldn't buy a wedding dress online. If you look hard or long enough you will be able to find it in a store, or have it made. That way you know that it will fit.

I bought my wedding dress on Ebay for $175. It worked perfectly. I had tried the dress on in a store, and got it on Ebay. It didn't fit 'perfect' but it was cheap to alter and bring it in. It was an Alfred Angelo dress, worn only once.

i'm not married...but i would totally buy my dress on the internet.
go to a salon to try dresses on, but if you find one that you like, and it fits...there's no reason not to run home and buy it on-line.
p.s. houseofbrides.com has discount designer wedding dresses

I personally wouldn't. But I was on E bay and saw that you could do just that, and people left reviews saying it worked out. I would just be scared that if it didn't fit or the colors weren't just right you would be out of luck.
