i have been working for a firm as a driver and because of the date when i passed my driving test i dont have the grandfather rights on my driving licence to drive the 7.5 tonne vehicles. Due to the seniority of the company i choose a job to drive these vehicles and i got the job. The firm said they would train me, this was 7 years ago! I am still waiting to be trained and in the mean time have lost out on my driving allowance of £25 per week. Over this period i have produced my driving licence to the firm which they lost and i had to pay for myself to get it replaced. Now, in April this year the new 48 hour maximum working week starts for the firms drivers. All the other drivers have chosen a 7.5 tonne driving job and now my human resources officer says i should not be able to pick one of these jobs as i am not a current driver! Do you think i am being discriminated against and may have a claim against the company?

My husband and I are expecting a little girl in a couple of months and we are partial to the name Charlotte. However, we HATE Char and Charlie for nicknames. (By the way, we LOVE nicknames, so please don't respond by telling us to just insist that our little girl be called by her full name.) I have recently been on the site thinkbabynames.com. It states that Lola is a variant form of the name Charlotte. I'm not quite sure what that means but I would love to assume that it means Lola is a nickname for Charlotte. Would you assume the same? Has anyone heard of Lola being the nickname for Charlotte? Do tell...

Hi! Every morning, after my alarm goes off and sometimes before, my cat will start repeatedly meowing. I've tried feeding him and even bringing him to the bed and petting him, but as soon as it's over he runs away and starts the meowing again. I like to hit my snooze alarm a time or two, so this is driving me nuts. I live in a one room apartment, so there's no keeping him out of the room. Can anyone help? Real answers only please- no mean suggestions about killing him. Thanks!!

details: his food and water are in my room, he's always fed before bed and played with so he sleeps most of the night. I can't put him outdoors, he's an indoor cat strictly. I've tried the water gun technique, but at that stage of the morning, it's pretty impractical, because there's no suprising him with it. Just wanted you to know the situation! Thanks again!

I had a traffice accident in the morning. Road was very slippery due to heavy snow from last night (All school and goverment center was closed today). I was driving hwy (25~30mph) with caution . But my car suddenly started to spinning and even I try to stop I couldn't . I think there was ice on the road. Anyway, while my car was spinning, the car coming from behind hit my car then my car stopped and end up to the snow bank. Another driver was OK and her car wasn't damaged that much. and then about 30 minutes later State police came and I reported exactly what happened to him. After 10 minutes later he came to me and gave me citation which is Reckless driving-Failure to maintain control. I think it's really unfair that police gave me that citation. I did lose the control but I did my best under my power to drive safe. I can accpet citation but it wasn't reckless driving.Is there any hope that Judge dismiss my citation? Should I get a lawyer? I'm very worried and angry with that police

when i start up my computer everyday AVG runes a complete scan which takes about a hour, i find it slows other programs down a bit, i want to disable the full scan and run it manually, it updates itself when i start the computer but that's fine, i just want to scan manually, thanks

Well we went out for 5 1/2 monthes but he broke up with me about 4 monthes ago. However we've remained close friends, we still talk on the phone nearly everynight theres no one i'm closer to. In our talk last night i learned a few things, he thought that it was only going to be a break and we'd get back together(however he started dating this girl, whos kinda a ****,but there completly over now), he thought it would seem like he just broke up with me to be with her. He says that his feelings for me are a kind of friendship love. He says his love only changes 3 times, from just liking someone, to love, to just friendship love. He says that we won't date again, but then he goes and says stuff like, were basicaly still dating(refering to the hours on the phone and hanging out etc.) He said that we are defiently still attached to each other, if he wasn't he wouldn't be up till 12:30 on the phone with me when we both need to get up at 6 he wants to have sex with me too and i do to, but i really want him back, as my boyfriend, how can i make him like me in that way againhe broke up with me because he didn't belive i loved him and he didn't think it was going anywhere, the second one i've proved wrong but he still doesn't belive i love him

my friends boyfriend threatens her in way unimaginable to any one . he says he will kill her ,catch her asleep and slice her throat. he once said he would mess with her breaks so they would go out on her going down the road . every thing you even think of . she even taped his conversation with her. he found it . told her that if she truly wanted him gone that she would sign everything over to her or pay him 20,000 to make him leave. she called a lawyer and he really could not tell her anything.she did manage to make him leave once and he sat across the road and watched her every move.he told her that if he caught her at anything that he would kill her and whom ever . she runs a day care in her home , that puts the children in danger. he makes real good money and so does she . what would you do ?
