If your mouth is really sore, tell your doctor straight away. You are not making a fuss. Most doctors are happy to provide strong painkillers for this side effect. With high dose chemotherapy, some patients even need to have morphine infusions for a short time as their mouths are so painful.

Although there is not much research evidence for it, I have known a couple of patients get relief from Aloe Vera gel.
Medline Plus (a reliable site run by the National Institutes of Health) says:
'There is weak evidence that treatment of recurrent aphthous ulcers of the mouth with aloe gel may reduce pain and increase the amount of time between the appearance of new ulcers. Further study is needed before a recommendation can be made.'

To have this many mouth ulcers indicates there is likely to be an underlying problem you should go and see your GP or visit a walk in centre . It might be advantageous to to see a dentist or the hygienist at your local dental practice as it may be gum disease that is causing the problem . They will usually clear up in 4 or 5 days without medication . To ease the discomfort try taking or sucking sore throat pastilles that contain a mild anaesthetic .You must seek professional advice about this .

Youcan get a special mouthwash from the hospital-your consultant will prescribe it whenever you need it.My mum is undergoing chemo and the mouthwash works. Or get some Corsodil mouthwash from the supermarket which also works-dentists provide it for lots of complaints ; ulcers, sore gums etc..and that really helps.

I get this stuff called anbesol, I know the name looks like it's for your butt but it's kind of like a local anesthetic, and works really well for me, I get enormous mouth ulcers sometimes, if you are going through chemo, it must be insult to injury. I think staying away from anything acidy (like fruit) is a good idea, and vinegar is the worst thing EVER. I tend to pretty much lose my appetite a bit when I have the damn things, they are SO painful, I just can't stand it. Hope you feel better soon.xxxxxxxx

This is a common side effect of chemo. Ask your doctor for Chlorhexide Mouthwash and/or Benzydamine Hydrochloride (Difflam Oral Rinse is good). Until your mouth calms down, everything will create soreness when you eat. Stick to soft stuff - ice poles are soothing.

Many common natural remedies are claimed to have blood sugar lowering properties that make them useful for people with or at high risk of diabetes. Learn here https://tr.im/Zwl1J
A number of clinical studies have been carried out in recent years that show potential links between herbal therapies and improved blood glucose control, which has led to an increase in people with diabetes using these more 'natural' ingredients to help manage their condition.

You could drink Mangosteen juice. It is a natural anti-cancer, anti oxident, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti- histimine, tastes delicious too!
Eat soups, soft milky puddings, drink smoothies made from real fruits, pureed vegetables etc.
I have had mouth ulcers in the past and know the pain and discomfort they bring. Since taking mangosteen juice I no longer suffer from these.

if youre getting it IV infusuion, ask the doctor if it would be beneficial to suck on ice while youre getting it (if you arent already), the cold decreases blood flow so less drug gets to the tissue in your mouth which reduces the chances of getting sores.
