To reduce swelling, put on some toothpaste and just leave it on your face before you sleep. Toothpaste is said to dry up the pimple. Wash your face with a mild facial soup like the Basis bar and use an oil free moisturizer. If you have to try to control acne regularly, Basis Bar + oil free moisturizers does not do the job completely, talk to a dermatologist. My friend suffered from acne my whole teenage and young adult life and nothing worked well. Her dermatologist put her on Retin A Micro and it worked wonders.
OVERWASHING can make acne worse, so don't fall into that trap. Products w/ salicylic acid + benzol peroxide claim to eliminate and prevent pimple and acne break-outs, but sulfur product seem to do better for me

Hi,
You may think I am NUT for suggesting this, but it works SO well for me that I feel like I should share it. I use Apple Cider Vinegar as a toner (after I wash my face)..use a cotton pad to apply. When that dries (watch out it may sting your eyes, so close them while it dries) apply Milk of Magnesia as a mask. This will dry and you will feel a tightening...I leave it on all night...
AND I also apply a thin layer of it before I put on my make-up....it makes an amazing primer.
So why might this work.. I think it is because the MOM and the ACV puts your skin at an alkaline PH level..making it impossible for bacterial to exist.
The cool thing about this is MOM and ACV are easy and cheap to get a hold of.
IVE TRIED SO MANY THINGS and spent a lot of money trying to find something that works..so far this has been amazing.

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symptoms and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.
Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

You don't need to spend too much money just to get that sticky acne out of that face.
All you need to do is wash your face with warm water and do not wipe to roughly. Make it a habit to drink lots of water everyday.
Do Not Use beauty products. They will just make things on your face complicated. BE NATURAL.
But if you really want to have the best result, try Clean&Clear facial wash or Proactiv... that really works ! If you can afford to have one.

acne are caused if the unwanted things given out through the skin are stopped by the dirt particles on your face(dirt particles are very small). So the best way to get rid of acne is to wash face with soap as many times as possible and thus keep your face clean.

Nu Skin has a product that will help prevent and clear up existing breakouts and will not dry your skin out at all. It is very effective on blackheads, red skin, and there aren’t any shiny effects.
It's awesome! I am on hormone pills, so my skin changes all the time and I still never have a problem.

Personally, I had trouble with my skin and tried everything (yes, everything) and I had little to no success until I went to my dermatologist. She is amazing and I would highly recommend going through you doctor to get help - another benefit is that it might be covered by insurance.
Anyhoo - she helped clear blackheads and get my skin looking young, fresh and healthy again. Plus, she had 'secret' products that my skin loves.
Hope this helps and good luck.
