Then how can so much money be spent on aid? The US govt. has spent $40-60 billion per year over the last 20 years in aid, and in 2005 it peaked at $100 billion (not including the $34bn that private companies have donated.)

Even the EU can hardly keep up with so much aid, $40bn a year. And that's at nearly 1% of the Eu's combined Gross National Income. What the US hands out, that's not even a twentieth of a percent. Plus, foreign workers have sent home over a hundred billion dollars home to their families overseas.

So poor people in America, they might as well starve, job or no job. But free handouts for other nations thousands of miles away? What gives?

Years ago, I was burned with not having enough taxes pulled out when I first got married. I ended up owing. As a result, I started having employers pull as if I was single with no dependents. Now, I'm married and have a daughter and am still doing this... but it's cutting a chunk into my paycheck. I was wondering if it would be safe to move up to married with two and if it would cause me to owe at the end of the year. I was told I could do married with 3, with myself being a dependent and that I should be okay doing married with 2. Any thoughts?

What do I do? I don't know if he said it to "sound big" or if there is truly a problem. I confronted him after finding text messages on his phone asking if he was looking to score and if he could get a dime. He doesn't live with me, and the person he lives with denies any involvement with drugs, but I suspect he is using. The person he lives with is accusing me of "making trouble". My son is soon to be 17, if there is a problem, I'd rather be a troublemaker then turn a blind eye.

this time it's because I said "xian" instead of writing out the whole word. How is that offensive? We use the same shorthand for xmas, what's the preoblem? Do the characters that make up a word really have that much power? What a sad world it is when we become the slaves of words rather than their master. Agree?

hi. i was wondering am i being bullied?? when i was filling a company form , one of the wuestions was position or job. as i go out on the lorry and work in the store i was unsure what to write down, i asked my boss. he goaded back that i was a goffer. i asked him again five times but he laughed back goffer much to my annoyance. he is always intimidating me through his belowing and leaning towards me when he is talkingto me. last wek i gave him 24 hours notice that i had to take the last 3 hours off work due to a hosputal appointment. he accused me of "pulling a fast one and demanded when i got the appointment. i cant take any more of this. my confidence is shattered and i am anxious. what can i do?? is there anything i can do??
