I live in a rental unit and my heat has not been working properly (it randomly shuts off) what are my options?

I have had maintenance out several times and each time they make it work but then it breaks down a few days later. Last night I came home at 1am and there was not heat (it was -16 degrees outside). I called and the on call maintenance man who has been helping us said that the property manager told him he was off the case and could not work on the problem. She also said that we should turn our electric over on and the problem would be addressed the next day. He came over and fixed it for the night for us but we decided to withold February Rent until the problem is fixed. The property manager called today and told me that I had to pay rent no matter what and besides the heat was currently working. I have contacted her boss and am waiting to hear back but what are my options. They just keep changing the thermostat but have not had a professional come look at the furnace. I need heat and the property manager is being exceedingly difficult. Any advice?

Am I too old to become a beautician?

I'm almost 40 and I've been a stay at home mom for 16 years. As my youngest gets older (8), I'm looking for something to do that I can make a little money, meet some people and not have to work long hours or holidays. I have 4 kids and want to be home for them after school and in the evenings. I also want to have a career of some sort. What do you think - am I too old to go to beauty school and work as a beautician? I didn't go to college and I don't want to go to college for the next 4 years.

what do you do when your ex keeps trying to come back?

we've broke up like 20 times. he says he'll change and do better and he never do. well i left him again and now hes calling again. how can i get him to realize i dont want him anymore without being mean to him. its over i have no more love for him to damage. he keeps saying he knows he was wrong. why does he keep saying that if he knows he not going to change? plz can someone tell me that. doesnt he see the pattern he has set. doesnt he see we keep breaking up. why does he want to keep going down the same route? i know i dont. so thats why im staying apart. but i hate to be mean to him. i just want him to realize its over as far as us dating. what do you think?

Whats so bad about using a rattle bottle as a training device for dogs?

A warning always appears at the bottom of the screen on BBC3's Dog Borstal when they use this training device. Is it because it can scare the dog?

an astronomy question ..please help ! ??

My internet pal asked me this .

Is it possible to see Uranus's moons,Neptune's Triton and Pluto's Charon?The only planets that I have saw is Mars and Jupiter(Without my telescope)when I was young(most probably).but nowadays I(13 years old) dont seen to be able to spot any planets anymore.I do not know how to use a star map and thus unable to spot any planets.Worse,at dawn and dusk,I cant even see Mercury or Venus!And not once have I saw I comet(except in pictures).What is the problem?Is it because of my location?(I live in Singapore)or is it the atmosphere or my eyes or satellites confusing me?
