I am considering getting my nose pierced again. I've had it pierced like 4-5 times but its been with a piercing gun which I know they dont use anymore so I'm gonna have to get it dun with a needle but does it hurt??? I am scared about it!!!!

Previously when I had my nose pierced with a gun the earring has gotten stuck in my nose and I've had to go to the Dr to get it pulled out!

Does anyone know how to make the Greek food called Maqloobeh? My friend was talking about it and said she also calls it Upside Down. This is her version and it doesn't make that much sense to me. If anyone knows the correct way to make it or the exact directions....please let me know.


Sarah's version

upside down (Macluba-arabic)

cut chicken into pieces and bake in oven
season with salt pepper sazzon and complete seasoning

fry potatoes, carrots, eggplant, and califlower

let 2/3 cups of rice soak in hot water for 30 min.

fry vermaccelli with butter and pour over raw rice

season rice with salt, complete seasoning, sazzon, maggi(chicken flavor), all spice, and very little curry

put cooked chicked and fried veggies on the bottom of pot then rice over it

fill pot with water until rice is cooked.

Emily Dickinson?

Can anyone explain the meaning of the poem "There is a certain slant of light" by Emily Dickinson? I understand everything except the last two stanzas. Also can someone explain why she capitalizes certain common nouns. I think it because of personification, Heavens Hurt, Landscapes Listen, Shadows hold their breath. Is that right?

Here is the poem:

There's a certain Slant of light,
Winter Afternoons--
That opresses, like the Heft
Of Cathedral Tunes--

Heavenly Hurt, it gives us--

my grandpa just passed away about three hours ago. my mom was on a buisness trip and she just called saying she was coming home. when i asked why she started crying and said that grandpa passed.

i dunno why im not crying. i feel bad but i usually cry about a lot of stuff. but everythings gonna change now. my grandma is moving in with us. we dont know if we can pay for the funeral...its all so terribble.

i dunno what to do. how much do funerals cost in general?

It was 23 degrees outside when I got in my car at work to go home. I pulled out of my space as usual, and at the end of the parking lot drive, which was on a downward slant, I stopped without incident before entering the road. Brakes worked.

Then I drove a short way going at about 15-20 mph, for less than 1/8 of a mile, and as I approached the next stop sign, I applied my brakes, and to my horror, the car kept rolling. The brake had gone down about half-way, I think, and there was no noise or vibration. Luckily, no other cars around, and I cruised through the stop sign and swung right, and all of a sudden, my brakes "caught" and I started slowing down. The whole thing lasted only a couple of seconds. The road was perfectly dry, nor had I driven through any water/snow/ice earlier that morning. After that, my brakes worked fine through the rest of my 30 mile trip. My car is a 2002 Nissan Altima, and the front brakes had been serviced < 6 mos ago. Any ideas? Can cold weather do this?
