I sold my home in 2006 that I bought in 1999 and qualifies as my personal residence. (lived in it 3 of the last 5 yrs).The basis in this property is less than the proceeds resulting in a loss. Personal losses are not deductible.

I sold rental property in 2006 resulting in a long term capital gain.

Can I reduce the amount of my long term gain by the amount of the loss on the sale of my principal residence?

i've been taught that the earth is between the moon and the sun. and the moon does not produce light by itself, but rather, the sun illuminates it.

but if the earth is inbetween, then isn't the sun suppose to cast a on the moon instead of lighting it up?

and let's say if what i thought was wrong, the moon isn't directly opposite and therefore the sun can light up the moon, then isn't it so that there will be a certain part on earth that cannot see the presence of the sun or moon at certain time at all? and if that's so, then which part is it?

I set the dishwasher on the pots & pans setting last night about 8ish, this morning when I got up (about 8ish) it was still running. I couldn't hear any water flowing thru it...I opened it and the dishes look clean (they were too hot to touch), but I'm pretty sure that they weren't rinsed. It's making the sound like it's running, only I don't hear the whoosh of the water and when I opened the door there wasn't any water in the bottom part like there usually is....any troubleshooting or DIY repair tips?

ok, I have been at the same job for some time... i love the people i work with, but i am taking another job starting Monday that will pay more and give me a better variety of jobs... i am suppose to work ALL day today till 7pm tonight... as much as i love this job, i am just exhausted...
should i go in, and do my job? or should i call in and take a day off? i havent had a whole weekend off in years!! if i take off, what excuse should i use to call in with?

I NEED HELP! MY SON IS 10 MONTHS OLD AND REFUSES TO EAT ANYTHING HE HAS TO CHEW. HE HAS 5 TEETH. NOW THIS IS REALLY WEIRD. What makes most sence here..late rent or boot tenant/???
what makes the most sence to boot a tenant from always paying rent 1-2weeks late OR getting a new tenant,,,but with that you have to do alot of maintenance...what u think?

i just asked this question..let me be more clear here:

rent is MOSTLY 1-2 weeks late, sometimes right on time tho (say 1 out of 4 times on time) and this building is somewhat older...so most appts need alot of maintenance when ppl leave...they dont cause probs to anyone tho,,,have kids,,,,,anyways what do u think now pls :)
