Dictionary definition of the word CULT:
1 : formal religious veneration : WORSHIP
2 : a system of religious beliefs and ritual; also : its body of adherents
3 : a religion regarded as unorthodox or spurious; also : its body of adherents
4 a : great devotion to a person, idea, object, movement, or work (as a film or book); especially : such devotion regarded as a literary or intellectual fad
It all fits. Each one of these fits christianity (yes, even #3...any religion with their history of murder, killing, burning people at the stake, warring and raping/molesting children...is definitely "unorthodox), too...)
Why deny the English language? That is the definition of the word CULT. Maybe some don't like it because they PERSONALLY have associated something negative with the word CULT. And, admittedly, there is quite a bit of negativity to associate with christianity, and that is their own fault.
But, IT IS A CULT.
So, what's the big deal???
