Yes, they do exist, and I have seen & heard them. So has my daughter. There are three different categories from my experience. The first are just like photos or videos. They are in the same place in a different time. They are not aware of you. The second I call playful poltergeists. They move things, then move them back, play the radio in another room, etc. The 3rd are evil. You will know if they are present, because you will feel afraid, or cold. Avoid them. Don't play with seances or Ouijoi (spelled wrong) boards. They can invite evil spirits without you meaning to. E-mail me if you want to hear about my life.

The western perception of ghosts produces almost an impossibility due to the circumstances that we've created for them.

First of all, it's seems that ghosts need to be created from tragedy. The more severe the tragedy, the stronger the presence of a spectre. That goes on into a very heavy discussion of the relativity of humans ideas or right and wrong. A murder is generally accepted as wrong but supposed someone is sacraficed voluntarily. They are still "murdered" but the incident is not perceived as evil, therefore an evil ghostly remnant is not provided. It is not possible to set an ultimate guideline for the creation of a "horror" ghost.

Secondly, can we admit it may be a tad narcissistics to assume all ghosts are humans? Are Humane Society's haunted by the cats and dogs that are euthanized? Do they have to be warm-blooded or cold-blooded? What level of intelligence is required to allow a ghostly transformation posthumously? What about slaughterhouses or restaurants in other countries where animals are killed on the spot? Insects? They all contain life. There is no solid explanation as to why the afterlife would discriminate which species of life can assume a ghostly presence

Thirdly, how long with the ghost haunt? If indeed each ghost were created by unfortunate circumstances, then where are the cavemen ghosts? Dinosaur ghosts? Ancient Greeks or Hawaiian warriors? It seems that all ghosts are only from the tragic incidents that we have already known of... as well as dating no earlier than a few hundred years.

Fourthly, location. It seems to be prime for a ghost to appear in somewhere abandoned, dark, and isolated. Many have been murdered and tortured on the streets. Why do we not see spectre's in the day on a crowded street?

Now what are other alternatives?

Perhaps, there is another dimension that is unknown to man yet. Of course, we do not have all the answers and each sighting may be as true as it can be. But we musn't surrounded each paranormal sighting with boo stories.

Second explanation: Spiritual visit? Without dismissing or advocating any religion, perhaps there is an ultimate life force occupying all things and provides glimpses of the past.

Third explanation: consider the source. The witness may have simply been the victim of light trickery or mind tricks.

Fourth explanation: Extreme coincidence. We never consider the quadrillion times that something does not occur in certain circumstances, but in the one time that it finally does occur, then we immediately assume a heavenly miracle or a ghostly entity. Even the rarity of a incident is no excuse. Remember, if the odds of something occurring is one in a million, it'll still occur at least one time.

Fifth explanation: Capacity of human knowledge. If there is something unknown to us, we should label it as such, unknown. As with many things, do not be quick to assume the unexplained as a ghost or angel or spirit. It is simply unknown.

Anyways, "ghosts" do not exist. The presence of something greater than our comprehension does.

I have used a Ouija board, and it worked, don't ask me how.

I have tried finding some scientific reason for the glass moving, like transporting energy from our minds, down our fingers and onto the glass, it is possible I suppose. Even if this was the case, how comes certain information comes through that no one knows but then happens weeks later? It freaked me out so I did not use it again.

I have seen something at the end of my bed, like the sissy woman I am, I threw the bed sheets over my head, when I had finally stopped my heart from pounding, I pulled them back and it was gone. Don't know what that was, part of me does not want to know!

Because I believe all time exists, then yes I believe in Ghosts. As for what they want, I guess that depends on what sort of person they were when they were alive.

I am a real life ghost researcher and my views are only through my own personal experiences. I have witnessed orbs with my own eyes, been sitting in a room whilst poltergeist has been moving stuff in other rooms and have an a huge collection of anomaly footage.

In answer, there is paranormal stuff happening, but is it the ghosts of our former selves? Are we meant to know the answers? Only continuing research will tell us

I am a science teacher, so I tend to be very cut and dried about these types of things, but....

My mother swears that her entire life she has "seen" things that no one else has. I hate to admit that I thought she saw things because she wanted to. I have changed my mind, and not because I have seen anything. My youngest son has started seeing these things too.

He will not go down the hall in our home unless the light is on because he's scared of the hall and the bedroom that is off of that hall. I asked why and he said because there is something in that bedroom. I don't see anything, but he does. Then about a month ago he was tucked into bed like every night before. About 10 minutes after I tucked him in he started screaming. No, it was more like shrieking. I ran upstairs and he said there had been a man standing in his doorway. It took me 10 minutes to get him calmed down enough to find this out. I called my mother and actually listened to what she had to say.

She says they are not there to hurt you. They are just there. And if you don't want to be bothered with them just ignore them and they will eventually start to fade. She chose to ignore them and for the most part she doesn't notice them much anymore. Although she said that when her and my youngest son are together she notices an escalation in the number of things she sees. My son is 8. He is not old enough to have just come up with this. I believe them.

I have never seen one myself personally but my mum came in from work one night in a right state. She actually stopped the car as she thought she was going to hit a ghostly horse & carriage. she thought it was real untill it dissapeared before her eyes.

we all know our mums pretty well enough to know if theyre lying or not or if they would lie about such a thing & i beleived her.

from how scared she was i know it really happened or she thought it did.

Another thing to note was.....she never went down that road at night again and drove the long way round. she never told us but i noticed it when i saw her out and about.

On the other hand.....surely there would be concrete evidence by now if ghosts really did exist

I've read a lot of Sylvia Browne's books, and she says ghosts are people who are dead, but don't realize it. They stay here because of some unresolved circumstance they had while they were living. To them, we are "ghosts" in their territory. She says if you have a ghost in your home, to try to get him or her to go to God-go towards the light and the other side. Just talk to them like you would a normal person. I suggest that you read her book "Visits from the Afterlife". It's very fascinating, and explains all your questions.

i am sometimes superstitious, but ghosts, maybe, i have seen shows about it, i have contemplated the reality of it all, and i think it is a figment of imagination. things have to be narrowed down to litteral terms or i don't think about them. ghosts are figments, ppl tell us about them, and then we place it in our heads and it sticks, we are tricked into believing it! (i am only 12)
