I've never been to India. No one in my family has either. I took my name when I became a Hindu. I became a Hindu, because I was meditating on Sri Lord Shiva. When I came out of my trance, I realized his cobra was sacred. When I was five, I was hypnotized by a snake charmer I saw on tv. Ten years ago, I went to a hypnotist, and "recalled" two past lives. I was a cobra worshiper in India; and I was a snake charmer. Just being near the cobra put me in a trance. And when I played the been, for my cobra, I also went deeper into hypnosis. Years later, I bought a cd of snake charmers live in Nepal. The notes described the music as "hypnotic".One track was a solo been playing for 4'30".I set the disc player on "repeat'. I could see the cobra swaying in its basket. When I opened my eyes, I felt as if only 15 minuets had passed. In reality, it had been four hours! My question is this. What is it about the music that hypnotizes the human audience? Thank you very much for you help.
