I believe(being an emo) that they are not a cult but i want tog et other peoples views on the subject.

i always thought of emo as for people who were too cool to be goths and not cool enough to be hippies... self harmers span the sub-cultures...

And there are actually cults for self harmers already.. you know, like organised religions... after all, the Christian God killed himself to prove a point....

whats an emos ...if its a cult from what I'm reading or could it maybe be a self help croup for teens self harming get together maybe they need recognition sure these kids feel alienated and talking to others with same affliction can only help its a lonely place out there but ..don't know just hope this helps if it doesn't sorry

In theory, they are nothing more or less than a group of people who subscribe to a certain style of dress, type of music, and way of expressing themselves, but are not necessarily a cult. however, in today's society, we have come to identify them as the kids who cut themselves because their parents didn't love them enough, or whatever the generalizations are. No, I do not consider them a "cult", I just see them as a kind of person, like a skater, a jock, a hippie, a motorhead, or anything else, without passing any kind of judgement. it is a classification, but only in a way so as to distinguish and respect what they believe from others.
