I remember distinctly during a regular season game, I beileve it was the 85-86 season, where the quarter back McMahon caught a pass from , I think one of the running backs, probably Payton, for a touchdown. I recently installed a new cd player in my 98 Cavalier. I have had a system for sometime now, 1000 watt amp with two MTX Thunder 8000 12' subs. The system & everything worked fine with the old cd player, but with this one, the amp kicks off if I barely even turn the volume up.. What could be the reason?

My main question, however, is, when I listen to it, even without the amp & system turned on, I hear a very loud thumping noise when I hit my breaks, which sounds like it is coming through the speakers, as weird as that sounds. This seems very odd to me, I have no idea what is going on unless it is something with my ground-wire for the cd player... Can someone help me out?
