Isn't it a bit insane to to believe that a loving, caring entity would slaughter millions and millions of innocent people to teach them about sin, and overcoming adversity?
We aren't talking about man-made chemical spills, or sins of the father visited upon the son. These are random, natural, events that the victims had nothing whatsoever to do with.
2004 - 250,000+ dead in a tsunami caused by PLATETECHTONICS, a natural event going on for billions of years.
2003 - Bam Iran - another 40,000+ killed in earthquake.
1931 - China - 1 to 4 MILLION killed in a flood.
1920-41 - China - drought - over 10 million to die of starvation
Totally innocent people, doctors, teachers, librarians, women, children, infants... they didn't know what killed them, or why. Almost all were BUDDHIST or HINDU, and you can bet their families never heard of Jesus Christ!
If an asteroid hits the earth & the world starves to death in 6 months, is that another of god's little lessons? Who'll survive to learn it?
