They get plastic surgery and ton's of makeup,and still they want to know if they look good.Sounds concieted,Think about those who are not good looking or disfigured,or mentaly challenged.

People worry about it so much because of how they take criticism from others, direct (family, friends/peers) or indirect (society/media's standards of beauty). What seems to be your gripe is people's tendency to show their self-esteem issues about, in this case, physical appearance. You sound like someone who doesn't get too caught up in appearance. I just hope that your character lines up with that logic.

Nowadays everyone cares soo much about looks when its not that important as it seems.
People think that they have it so bad because they are 'ugly' but when in reality they are pretty lucky to have what they have.
I understand why people care about looks; because they dont want people to talk about them or anything. But i dont think plastic surgery should be the answer.
Sometimes when people look into a magizine with all of the beautiful people, they just want that attention and popularity.

Because modern society puts too much emphasis on looking good. People look up to faces that they consider perfect and try to conform to unrealistic beauty standards.
I think today's definition of beauty is very, very sad. Beauty comes in more forms than some blonde waif pictured in a tabloid magazine.

I dont i think u should love your self no matter what u look like. And i say u should never have to change for a man cause he should love or want to go out with u for what u allready are.

Society has developed this way, even men start to shave all over and use all kind of cream. Perhaps looking is easier than thinking?

They feel that there is a certain way that everyone should look in order to be beautiful... Therefore, they don't realize that they can beautiful in their "own skin"... Everyone being an individual, and possessing their own individual qualities is what makes them beautiful...

Simple: insecurity.
Our society tells us we need to be attractive in order to have fun, make friends, etc. Unfortunately, few people actually are naturally "attractive" (according to society). Therefore, they feel the need to "fix" or "adjust" their looks. Pretty sad, huh?
