for 3 years of my life i was in a serious relationship with a man. we had a great realtionshi..lived together, loved eachother and literally never had a fight because we gt along so well...a year after living together, he moves for a job..he lives there for about a year..and he goes out to the bars one nigt with his firends and meets a girl. he did not have sex with her, but started to date her..while dating me..on my birthday he came up, took me out to a play and told me that he had been cheating on me. we broke up. havent seen him for 10 months. during this time he had a relationship for about 6 months with another girl who was madly in love with him. he comes to my house in that 10 months(a 3 hour drive)professing his love to me. we spend a few weekends together and he tells me he is not happy and that he is depressed..when he is with me he thinks about her. i love him and want to be with him. he says that he can't be with me because my family barely talked to him ever and are cold.

he asked me to give him some sace..now he is deciding between me and the other girl...my family was alwas kind of rude to him and he felt unwelcome at my house nd uncomfortable...but i love him and he loved me...he has literally in 3 years never shook my father's hand or hugged my mother...what do you think?

Why go back down that road when you already know how it ends? He's cheating on you with other women and professing love to you when he's with another woman. . . you could do so much better. Why settle for someone who isn't good enough for you?

I would just let it go. If he regretted cheating on you do you really think he would tell you that he needs time to choose between you or the girl he cheated on you with! Sounds like he's a bit selfish and thinks you will take him back no matter what he does! If he wanted you back he would do everything in his power to show you he did. And you don't want someone who "might" want you.

Wow! People can be so mean/dumb!
He sounds like he doesn't have a clue what he wants.
Here is my advice: Love is something you FEEL, not something you do. So you can love him and still go your own way. If, at any point, he tells you he's decided what he wants and you are it he will obviously have to go to great lengths to prove it.
Spend time with your girlfriends, go out and have fun, and DON'T be someone else's swinging door!
