Is it chance that produces the results of a coin toss, or laws of weight,velocity,time,and force of gravity and no chance at all?
Does a chance then describe nothing?
If you have a chance meeting, that means it was unplanned not without cause, for although it was unplanned and unexpected, it still happened because it had a cause, just not a cause that you knew of or had any part in.
The cause was because your friend was there and you were there, and you were both there for various reasons or causes. The meeting was caused by these separate independent factors.
So if I say I met my friend by chance, what am I really saying?
Answer, that I ran into him unexpectedly.
So if I say as some are in the habit of saying, the Universe was created by chance, what does that really mean? Am I saying the universe was created by unexpectedly? If Chance is a description then it is an adjective and not a noun. Can an adjective be a cause of anything? Then, can chance be a cause of anything?

I HAD LIABILITY INSURANCE BUT SINCE I WAS AT FAULT-I CANT GET MY CAR FIXED AND HAVE $2500 WORTH OF DAMAGE AND CANT AFFORD TO FIX IT. DO I HAVE ANY RECOURSE TO SUE OTHER DRIVER TO GET RECOVERY FOR MY CAR SINCE THEY ARE UNINSURED??

I purchase various types of bags of dried beans for my homemade soup. I usually soak them overnight, or for many hours prior to cooking them. I cook the soup for about 2 hours. The beans come out with a skin around them. They taste good but the skin seems like it shouldn't be there. My question is, "Am I cooking them too long, or not long enough?" Thanks.

that fighting or arguing about which religion or belief or lack there of is pointless? the believer believes with all his heart that he/she is right and the non believer also believes just as strongly that he/she is is also right. so i guess my real question is why all of the negitive comments to one another? if we can't have civil conversations with each other than why not just leave each other alone? wouldn't this be much easier?

ive checked a few of the questions already asked, but there were over 3,000 and i dont really want to check them all.

so my heart hurts every now and then. it feels like somebody just punched it, and the after pain sort of feel, or like something is squeezing it. it happens every now and then, maybe about once or twice every month or so. i exercise, eat mostly healthy (ie: not too much junk food) i feel it could be due to my love of fast food, but i dont eat it that often for somethin like this to happen, plus i go to gym and walk at least 4-5 miles a week.

havnt been to the doctor yet cause these pains are random and i cannot really pin point it's attacks. plus i feel fine after the pains pass so i dont see it as a real problem. im 20 years old so i cant blame it on old age or anything

any thoughts?

Its my opinion that record companies are more interested in famous faces and pretty people than in really truely talented artists. Paris Hilton has an album.. Is there such a thing as "true love?" I know people who live of salads and it doesn't look like it's doing any good as far as weight control. I'm not even sure if there's any nutritional value in lettuce (it's not like it's tasty without the dressing) and I heard dressing is fattening.
