ive checked a few of the questions already asked, but there were over 3,000 and i dont really want to check them all.
so my heart hurts every now and then. it feels like somebody just punched it, and the after pain sort of feel, or like something is squeezing it. it happens every now and then, maybe about once or twice every month or so. i exercise, eat mostly healthy (ie: not too much junk food) i feel it could be due to my love of fast food, but i dont eat it that often for somethin like this to happen, plus i go to gym and walk at least 4-5 miles a week.
havnt been to the doctor yet cause these pains are random and i cannot really pin point it's attacks. plus i feel fine after the pains pass so i dont see it as a real problem. im 20 years old so i cant blame it on old age or anything
any thoughts?

Sounds more like you have a pinched muscle in your rib cage or a "catch". It could be a number of things, but I would bet you have a catch in your ribs.

Yes, any age, young or old can have heart problems. Even the young can have a heart attack. Something is wrong. Go see a Cardiologist for a thorough exam. Make an appointment ASAP. If you experience pain and pressure again, before your appointment, go immediately to the Emergency Room.

Chest/heart pain *can* be stressed muscles, it *can* be heartburn (stomach acid), but it can also be a sign of real heart trouble... even if you're young, even if you live a healthy life. And heart trouble isn't something to joke around with or think 'it'll pass'. Just to be safe, visit a doctor and have it checked.

2 years ago I had the same symptoms along with shortness of breath. I went to the emergency room and they ran tests and x-rays and the doctor diagnosed me with "chest wall pain" due to stress. I was only 22. This could possibly be the same but you really need to see the doctor to be sure.

you have to undergo some tests:
electro cardio gram which is a test of cardiac electricity figure and is good and simple screening test ...
also there are blood tests called cardiac enzymes that can predict early changes in the heart muscle..
Doing Echo cardio graph ultrasonic imaging of the heart in motion..can reveal many thing..
after then if all things are normal..you have to be sure that you are very well ,and never think of it again..
you have to visit your doctor ..the problem may be just a muscle ache or a lung problem..
good luck

I had these in my 20's.. I went to the doctors a few times... I had them run tests, x-rays, EKG's you name it... they never found anything and said I was perfectly healthy... I'm in my thirties now and I don't get those anymore...
You should go to the doctor and have them run tests too just to be safe... Sometimes they won't unless you ask them a few times...

Do you have a family history of heart disease? Do you also have trouble breathing? Do you smoke? Are you sure it's your heart and not a pulled muscle in your chest?
See a doctor.

You must must must go and see your doctor.
It is quite possible that it could be muscular strain but you have to rule out problems with your heart. If it is a heart problem, many are treatable nowadays and its best to find out and start treatment sooner rather than later.

Angina pectoris. Since the heart has NO nocioceptors, it cannot feel pain. Pain in that area is all 'referred' pain transmitted thru your vagas nerve. Any non-localized visceral pain can make u feel it in ur heart area. U need Chol, PTT, CBC, and creatinine and BUN levels checked to find out.
