that fighting or arguing about which religion or belief or lack there of is pointless? the believer believes with all his heart that he/she is right and the non believer also believes just as strongly that he/she is is also right. so i guess my real question is why all of the negitive comments to one another? if we can't have civil conversations with each other than why not just leave each other alone? wouldn't this be much easier?

religion is just an excuse for some real goal (money, land, fame, distraction from domestic problems)

You ask WHEN?

People will stop arguing about religion when they stop to see what they have in common rather than what is different. Only then will they see that they are seeing the SAME thing from different angles, different perspectives

Once I was given a dream. I was shown how people see things in a linerar fashion. (Like how they use to think the world was flat.) They see themselves as right in the centre standing on a line, right on with their own belief system. They see others with similar beliefs as standing to the right, or left of them, as close enough to the truth to be accurate. They do not see how those from a very different belief system are even standing on that line.

I was show that 'line' is a very very big circle, with ALL of us looking inward at the very same thing...only not everyone can see that broadly. Those that can, or those that dare to move around the circle, begin to see that indeed we are all joined, we all are just seeing things from different perspectives.

Unfortunatly some belief systems prohibit people from venturing from the place they stand in the circle. They are taught that there is only one perspective. This keeps them stuck from seeing the bigger picture. This also keeps some people away from the circle period- they dont like what they see and they turn away.

When people begin to understand this greater truth, only then will they show respect for another perspective and try to learn from one another rather than argue. It happens one person at a time.

I don't see argueing here. I see people asking questions directed at a belief system and they recieve answers.

Sometimes the way the question is worded there is critisism and rudeness, which recieves the same type answer, but the main thing is people are getting their points out whether it is recieved or not.

I see questions like this many times a day and have to wonder why you come to this forum if it upsets you so much. I say you meaning all those who ask questions like this.

Just go somewhere else if it bothers you because we will stay and debate.

random side note but doesn't it seem sily to say non-believer and believer lol we both believe in something. :o) back on subject though... I totally agree with you. I hate how people can't just have an honest talk without getting hostile. I've enjoyed many conversations about faith and religion with friends who are buddhist and wiccan and morman and atheist and I'm a christian. We can all learn from each other!

Oh wow, creepy, i think the same thing.. whats the point in fighting.. its not like there going to stop what they believe just because you said your religion is better.
i mean, I'm not religious, but i choose this, because my thought on it is that its just a story, i don't believe it happened. but i i guess if people need to believe then that's there choice, I'm not going to stop them believing the story.everyone needs something to believe in, some choose this, others choose themselves, some choose there own made up version of god. or whatever they believe in, that's what gets to me.. how the Christians are always saying theirs is the right way, but doesn't the bible say his a Jewish. but there saying he isn't, i don't know.. i mean. just stop telling people what to believe, and start paying attention to your own thoughts and beliefs and your own life..

The fact isn't that people don't understand, it's that they don't want to understand.. everyone by nature has a dominating instinct. and the truth is that the more passionate you are about your belief the more possibilities of having a fight.I would characterise people like them blind, because they don't see the full truth and as they don't have a full aspect of reality they are surelly unable to criticise and say what's right or wrong.

When? no one can tell when or maybe by the time religion had been just a part of history (if that time comes)

It is a common subject in the society.

JUDGEMENT IS OF THE HEART

Heb.9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Matt.12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak,
they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

2 Cor.5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one
may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done,
whether it be good or bad.

it makes some sense. the problem is if you believe you have found the best way you wont to share it with others. Knowing Jesus as lord and saviour changes your life and you wont to share that,
muslims have to earn salvation and can do that by converting others. but argueing is not the way to convert any one we can only do that with Love. may God bless you today.
