Is there such a thing as "true love?" The reason I ask is that my observations of the world today indicate that there are more people getting divorced, getting cheated on, and breaking up than there are happy couples that are in love and stay in love. I mean, are humans mentally and physically capable of staying in love with someone and being faithful to each other?

Yes, there is. It's just that with the kind of people we have nowadays, it's hard to find. Mostly because people are lowering their standards and learning that divorce and breakups are easy ways to deal with a crappy marriage or something, instead of working it out.
People are becoming brats.
But true love still exists. You still have something to look for.

Yes there is such a thing. I was truly in love with my wife. I'm a United States Marine. While i was away she cheated on me with 2 guys that i know of. And used me for my money and benifits. You're right about more divorces and breaking up. Yes humans are capible of this. I was and still am. Even though i've been put through hell. But each and everytime this happens to me. My heart seems to grow colder. Hopefully i'll be able to love again someday. But to answer you question. Yes, there is such a thing. And yes, we can and are able to stay faithful. I beleive so anyway.

They are capable of staying in love if their expectations are lower. Women nowadays have this crazy notion that they need to be happy all of the time, or they believe in the fairytale ending of happily ever after. That's preposterous. Women really need to come back down to earth and take the ups and downs as they come and not be such a baby when things get tough. Even princesses go through hard times. Look at Princess Diana. But, not you women. You women are so special that you deserve more from life that Princess Di ever did. It's time to ask yourself what the hell you did to actually deserve being treated like a princess? If you didn't do anything to deserve it, then don't expect it.

Women need to chill out and start taking a good hard look at themselves. Most of them are selfish little brats who never grew up and do not know how to maintain a relationship. All I see nowadays are women who take and take and consume and consume some more without giving anything back. They are not human. They are consumers.

Women need to learn to adjust, to give, and to share. They need to learn how to be adults and a considerate human being before they can expect to find true love.

There is no such thing as "true love", I don't think. People are capable of staying together and not cheating but they choose to take that road in a relationship.

nope...don't think there is any such thing as true love or perfect love. World is just too complicated for it to be possible with all the different situations people go through now. However you can find somebody...not just one person that you feel perfectly comfortable with and that compliments your personality that will make you think it is true love.

I am a Christian but the Jewish religion believes that each person has a soul mate, just like Eve was made specifically for Adam.

Humans are capable of true love and monogamy. The trick is to marry someone who is emotionally mature and someone you are not in lust with, but rather someone whom you took the time to date and know as a person.

Its rare but there are some couples who are true to each other. Yes, in this world where divorce, cheating and breakup is an everyday affair... it can be quite disheartened to think there's true, undying, faithful love out there....But there is.. I am sure. just be sure to know when that comes along...

I definately think that it is possible. I have friends that have been together for almost 20 years and when you are around them...you just know that it is going to last forever. I think the keys are honesty, respect, and communication. I think people tend to go into marriage nowdays with the idea that if it doesn't work out there is divorce and that isn't a big deal to them.
