There is a mistranslation of Isaiah's Hebrew for young woman (almah) It got translated into the Greek for virgin(parthenos).

Now 'almah' means young woman in hebrew, ha'almah means the young woman. 'Almah' does not mean virgin or does 'ha'almah' mean the virgin, neither mean virgin.

So why do Christians keep on believing Mary was a virgin when Jesus was conceived, when that's clearly not the case here?

Mary was a young woman when Jesus was conceived.

This does mess up the whole Mary was a virgin when she had Jesus story. Most Christians do know that there is a error in the translation.. So why do they keep insisting that Mary was a virgin when she had Jesus, even when they know that is not the case..

I mean look at the goverment and bush and the whole war, that government sucks, america is the richest and most powerful country yet has like the worst poverty rates for an MEDC, it shows how selfish the rich are there, people will say "9/11 wasn't self inflicted, the goverment wouldn't do such a thing" but yes thats how corrupt it is, WAKE UP and face reality, that government doesn't care about human life in WTC, $$$ and thats it. My family is Mexican-American, but I have always been pushed to do better at whatever it is that I do. Granted, my ancestors and family have been here for a long time, and are not immigrants. But why are so many young adult Mexican kids so unambitious? They have terrible work ethic, when I see them at retail stores; it seems they are always goofing off with their coworkers as opposed to tending to the customers. I mean, if their parents worked so damned hard to make a living for these little brats, shouldn't they at least show some appreciation by reaching for goals instead of dropping out of school and getting pregnant?

I'm not sure who out there believes that the Loch Ness Monster and BigFoot is real or not real. Though, I had to do a report on this subject...and there are sites that say there were more than over 100 sightings of the Loch Ness monster and BigFoot. (and other similar monsters.) Why is that? I don't believe that they are real, but how come so many people claimed to see the Loch Ness Monster or BigFoot? Even if they were real, wouldn't they be discovered by now?

It's really bad that those hikers have got lost and I really do hope they find them, but they are expert hikers and they took the risk of hiking up a mountain in winter, and now hundreds of rescuers who have families of their own, are risking their lives to try and find these people and this has been all over the news networks non stop all day. THREE EXPERT hikers are lost on a mountain and could possibly be dead and are getting more news coverage than an American solider killed in Iraq ever will.
