My family is Mexican-American, but I have always been pushed to do better at whatever it is that I do. Granted, my ancestors and family have been here for a long time, and are not immigrants. But why are so many young adult Mexican kids so unambitious? They have terrible work ethic, when I see them at retail stores; it seems they are always goofing off with their coworkers as opposed to tending to the customers. I mean, if their parents worked so damned hard to make a living for these little brats, shouldn't they at least show some appreciation by reaching for goals instead of dropping out of school and getting pregnant?

I am not speaking for everybody here. And, secondly, genera;izations have been instituted for a reason. There are always going to be outliers and deviations, but, generally speaking, a large amount of American-born children of Mexican immigrants from poor areas tend to posess a lack of realistic ambition, if any at all.

This isn't a "each and every single individual" type of question. Also, don't come gunning me down with politically-correct-crap. This question should be observed from an abstract and unbiased point of view; a scientific eye, if you will.
