me & my bf of 4 years- it took us about 2-3 weeks of going out on dates. I wanted it right away but- we fell in love with each other and he dind't want me to just be "the person he is seeing" and asked me to be his gf on a date out in the beach.

When I've dated women in the past, we began by hanging out as friends, then one of us asked the other on a proper date, then we had a few more dates, then we had a talk and decided we were "together".

Starting from scratch, I think in most cases it takes around 4 - 8 dates for two people to become a couple. It can happen quicker, if they're really into each other, or slower, if they aren't dating very seriously, but I think that's about the average.

Honestly, me and my girlfriend were serious from the start, and still are. Of course you have to understand that before we ever even started dating we were close friends, and were already acting like girlfriends, so it really wasn't that big a step for us. However I think it normally takes a few dates before you decide that this is the person you want to be your girl/boyfriend, after you get to know them a little bit better.

By the end of the first month, she was spending the night regularly. After five months, she moved in. It was almost three years later that we got married. I must admit I was a little gun shy. I saw this thing spiralling out of my control, yet despite my constant warnings about how my various neuroses would drive her crazy and how wise it would be for her to get out while she could, she stuck by me. She's an amazing woman and easily the best thing that has ever happened to me. Now, eleven years later, I love her more every day.

We dated four or five nights every week for three month, then I moved in with him, and we married a bit over two years later.

Indications? While we were in the dating phase, though never discussed it, neither of dated anyone else. It just deepened. It's not something you can really explain, but you just know it when it happens. We knew the night we met.

You talk to the person. My boyfriend and I met eachother and we talked online for about a week to get to know eachother. We hung out at a party and then we hung out once again after that. Then he asked me out and it became serious after a couple of weeks. I'd say about three weeks.
