I need to make a model so i borught some clay that hardens so i have to bake it. do i paint then bake or bake then paint. plz someone help it's due wednesday

Bake, then paint. Use a good enamel paint like that used for model airplanes-don't sniff it though or you'll miss Wednesday. If you are too young to buy that kind of paint, any water-based enamel would work, if it is not glossy enough buy some Mod-Podge(at Micheals or the ilk) It paints on think and white, but dries clear and shiney. What kind of clay is it? Is it normal clay or bead clay? Normal clay needs to be glazed before you bake it, but if you are putting it in your home oven, it won't reach the temperature it needs. My advice is to paint afterwards with an acrylic. Plus, acrylic is cheaper that pottery glaze/paint.

if its a primer you put it on before putting it in the kiln or oven...if its paint you put it in the oven or kiln then you "paint"....do a lil sample to see....
