I'm just curious whether or not your own organized religion has a list of what is a literal and what is a symbolic translation of your own religious text. Sure no existing religion translates their scripture as wholly literal or wholly symbolic, but do they have an actual list of what is translated a specific way or is it just open to personal (or inter-organizational) translation within your specific house of worship? Also, who decides what in your religious scripture was suppose to be literal and what was suppose to be symbolic? By what criteria did they use?

Please no jokers, I'm quite serious in trying to understand all of this. Thank you.

means. Since when is he an expert in foreign policy? Has CBS gone Democrat too? Barack Obama has a shady land deal and loves his dad's African village. Those are things I consider him an expert in, but not the war strategies.

Tell me if this is asking too much.

If you don't like or understand (which I believe is usually a bs claim) one of my facetious questions, could you please not tell me that you don't understand it nor attempt to correct the questions? Why not just report me or say "2 points1"? It's far less nauseating to read than "huh?"

If this is asking too much, let me know.

Thanks.

Hi all! I live in Cologne (Germany) and its skyling with the Cathedral and the bridge with the old market ist overwhelming but there are cities like Sydney with the Opera Theater or New York with the famous view of Manhattan, or Italy ( Rome, Florence...) , Paris. My question is : Which view do you like best? Is there a skyline that's worth a trip?

If plants and trees can respond to light and sound, does that mean they can communicate with each other also? Are they conscious of their surroundings? Can trees sense other trees being cut down?

I am a PhD student and work in my group is to do with platelets. In the last month I have had blood drawn from my arm twice (80mls and then 60mls) as well as a routine blood test for Hep B titre (this was one week after i gave blood the first time around). How long should I wait till I give blood again? Frankly i'm thinking of saying 'No' from now on purely i'm getting irritated with the frequency of request (however polite) for blood and somehow it feels a little unethical?? i may be wrong... i did think that we should all have taps attached to us... so can anyone answer my qn? Any docs around??

I ask this on behalf of Mr. Gorgeous Fluffpot who bought a sarong when we were on holiday last year. Now we're off again to the tropics and he isn't sure whether to pack it - will he look daft on the beach (he has gorgeous and fluffy legs) or will he look fashionable?. Please reply quickly as Mr. GorgeousFluffpot is holding his sarong and looking at his suitcase and is in a bit of an indecisive haze as to what to do.

A cowboy rides into town after a six month cattle drive. After several drinks he calls the barman over and comments that there are no women in this establishment. The barman agrees and remarks that not only are there no ladies in the bar but none in the whole town. “Well, what do you do for sex?” he asked. The barman says that they f*ck Herbert. The cowboy says “Hmmph I am not like that” and carries on drinking. After several bottles of redeye, the cowboy calls the barman over and in a quiet voice says “If I f*ck Herbert, how many people have to know about it” ‘Seven’ was the barman’s reply. “SEVEN, how the f*ck do you make it seven?” he cries. ‘Well, let me see, there’s you and me, that makes two, there’s Herbert that makes three and there’s four guys to hold him down coz Herbert, he’s not like that either!”

Has anyone had a job so bad before that you quitted even before u found a new job?

This is what I intend to do, and i do have enough savings to last me(in fact, enough for two years!) going without a job. And I am thinking I could get some odd jobs while looking for a new full time one( in my profession). I am not married, don't have much financial commitments, but I feel guilty of letting my family down.

But I've had enough, and needed a break. What should I do, go ahead and take the risk for once?
