it seems like everything i see sets off a bad memory or a dream i have prevousliy ( not spelled rght) had in my head like for example i have nightmares all the time and if i see like a color thats was in one i will have it again except i am awake i know it sounds crazy but it is strating to freak me out what should or could i do to make them go away?

it seems to me that you may be a sensitive person overall, you are probly one of those people that worry and stress alot and feel bad when you tell someone off or even if you were in your rights to get mad at them. if you are battling to sleep due to the dreams then you may what to see a psychologist!NOT A PSYCHIATRIST! (they just give you pills that hide the actual problem). you are probly guilt of the "bad memories" you have. first off you need to let these memories go, and the best way to do this is confide in another person (whether it be a professional or a friend/family) talking is the best theropy.
guilt is another issue that may be causing these problems, if you feel bad about something you did or said the best thing to do is admitt to yourself that it was wrong and confront the guilt (either by apologising or talking about the matter with the particular person)
if the problem persists then you should see a psychologist.

Get your doc to set up a sleep study for you. That should get to the bottom of it.

an empty mind is devil workshop. so read always good books,see good movies, everytime do something. pray to god ok you find better
